There have been certain boundary changes in Somerset but I have no information as to whether this has affected his seat of North Somerset. This has not been fertile territory for Lib Dems over the years and in the last General Election they trailed in 3rd behind Labour.

Fox and Labour both saw a fall in their share though (at a time when the Tories were doing well) with the Lib Dems almost beating Labour after coming from nowhere; and smaller Tory majorities have fallen in recent bye-elections...

I think Fox will be safe; but with a vastly reduced majority. And you are correct - it may be Labour not the Libs who are leading the chase; and what will save Fox will not be any intrinsic quality of the Tories but the split vote of the Libs and Labour.

How can you be proud of a Conservative party that has no discernible conservative policies and is arguably to the left of Blair's last government.

I am certainly not proud of the dastardly left-wing Human Rights lawyers and the ECHR who have continually thwarted our efforts to reduce the influx of illegal immigrants and as such have allowed the criminal gangs to continue to prosper and put lives at risk.

Furthermore I am not proud of the 'Junior Doctors' for their totally unreasonable demands and strike action which could result in excess deaths.

In the final analysis I am on the Right of the party, a 'Spartan', and a proud admirer of Margaret Thatcher.
Certain circumstances have veered the party away from what is considered 'Conservative' and there have been self-inflicted wounds, but the alternative at the General Election is horrific.

Time for some sustenance, I am feeling a tad malnourished !

Well said Willo!
I have noted Starmer's speech and it lacked anything concrete in the way of policy.
All he did was to attack the Tories and said that they will do better.
If I was a floating voter I would stick with the devil I know or vote Reform or similar.
Labour are dangerous because they will absolutely make it up as they go along and I truly believe that they are a dangerous alternative to a pretty rubbish Conservative Government.

We will find it hard to see the difference between a Starmer and Sunak government, apart from perhaps EU policy.

Time is up, get the van, or in Sunak's case a skip.

Why not send them to Rwanda and keep the asylum seekers.

The 'Mood music' of course points to a comprehensive Labour victory based on poll ratings, however around the world there have been instances where the clear favourite has been defeated after their poll lead disappeared in the weeks leading up to a General Election.

Public opinion can change in the full glare of an election campaign. At present I do not sense any great appetite for either of the main parties.

The ideal situation would be for Reform to eat into Labour votes in the 'red wall' seats and the Tories winning but with some Reform representation in Parliament.
Unfortunately, with the demise of the SNP, I can't see a Tory majority even with the best electoral campaign ever.

A hung parliament is the most optimistic outcome.

After the last few years, this has to be bloody parody.

I simply do not believe that the outcome will be a landslide Labour victory as indicated by the polls.

In 2017 the Conservatives had consistently showed significant leads over Labour but the 21 point lead diminished during the election campaign and Theresa May was 14 pts ahead in the polls leading up to Election day.Certainly the outcome never reflected the final poll.

But I think you're right I can't see myself voting at the next GE.

Don’t not vote badger.
Even if you spoil your paper with
They’re all c***s
I think anyone who doesn’t at least do that really hasn’t got the right to a political opinion.
Just my take on how far the west has come and who has died to actually give us that opportunity and choice. Yes youngsters are omitted but there has to be a start point and many kids of today are so well informed it is a shame but rules is rules no matter how unfair they seem. They would have years after the point of allowance of a vote to voice their opinion metaphorically. If you could ask the kids of Russia, maybe Ukraine Palestine etc if they had a chance years ago what they would do.

Let's hope not.

I don't really trust polls, but I do believe in the cyclical nature of two party politics.

Including, no doubt, her pro-EU position?
