Doesn't take long for the Luka bandwagon to come out swinging hey. He was not the reason we lost today - and while didn't star, was not really any better or worse than anyone else on the field. It got boring two years ago. Now it's just excruciating. As for the rest of the game, we've got gems in Olise and Eze...but until we can complement them with a striker who can find the goal, we'll always be where we are. Actually would've loved to see Big Ben in this team - he'd lick his lips and Olise's crosses. Not having a decent striker is the sole reason we look boring.

Well, I think you deserve motm then, given noone else really earned it...maybe the players could help you move as penance?! Good idea. Avoid Andersen as a carrier. He will put all things where they don't really belong.

Watch the first goal again. Mitchell and Ayew did not defend it and the ball went through them and hit Andersen. Should never of got to him :-( My immediate thought was 'why was nobody on that before it bounced/reached knee height?'. Haven't seen it back however that is surely straight out of the U9's coaching script. My brother there and reckoned Johnstone should have caught the ball before it went behind, if there's any substance in that (genuine question)?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

It was an interesting team selection and Roy explained his reasoning. Changing the midfield so much was surprising though.
We move in the direction of our thoughts. |

One of them should have attacked the ball at the near post. It should never be bouncing knee high in the 6 yard box unless they have knocked it down. Don’t think Johnstone could have saved it really.

Agree, there is only one person picks the team and that midfield selection was the reason we gave them first half midfield dominance and ultimately why we lost. They didn't score in the first half!

I thought we controlled 80 minutes of the game and had some bad luck at the very start and end of the match. Our crossing was pretty poor tonight, although there was no natural forward to try and get on the end of anything. Richards had another good game as did Guehi so shows we have good options in that position. Mitchell needs to work on the final third and right back is still an area we need younger options. Midfield was a little lost but grew into the game. I think Roy is starting to look at the squad to see what needs the biggest work in the summer. The biggest has to be the area we have needed for 3-4 seasons. A proper forward who has the instinct and quality in the box. The issue is many teams need the same and they are very hard to find! Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs. |

It’s not that I hate Luka - I just stating he is not Prem anymore Fact! For a midfielder he just can’t take control - Palace need an attacking mid & Eze is stepping up for sure but either Hughes or Milo should have worked out who was Holding & who was Pressing - then did not run off their marker to be an option ! Wolves blocked our shots - a they kept pushing Olise of his shot using a 2nd defender Anyway West Ham we must win - need to finish above Chelsea & we must not sit too deep in first half
Forever Palace Proud |
