The other thing I liked today was Roy only made subs when he felt it was really necessary. Past few games, Olise has been our most dangerous player, only to be subbed off in the last quarter of the game. There goes our lack of goal threat and creativity!

Olise and Eze linked up well on the same wing - and were both so much more effective than when playing in PV’s formation.

The team as a whole looked so much more more confident - and we could all hear Ray’s encouragement from the side of the pitch…jeepers…he’s got one hell of a shout!

I've had it in the back of my mind that the players were going through the motions with PV. After his sacking and Roy coming on board, the team look to had got back the fighting spirit. Same thing happened at Chelsea with Mourinho, they started to play negative football then, picked up once he was out the door. I'm hoping this is the case for us and we are on a roll

a huge part of man-management is psychology & mind games.

Something Roy seems to be very good at.

Nice to read that some of you are at long last understanding what Mr Hodgson is all about.

Yes I can only imagine that PVs similarity to the below wasn't very reassuring for all the players

I have just eaten a large slice of humble pie. Attacking football and line up lots of energy and a great performance.
Well done Roy and keep up the good work.
I still hate Parrish though and I bet he was in the boardroom taking all the credit.

your feeling toward Steve Parish are misguided during
his stewardship Palace were saved from going out business recovering from being docked points brought back are ground and made ours. We have had our longest run in the top league and we remain on a firm financial footing. coaching staff Paddy Roy Ray bloody Lewington Steve Parish didn't need to this he became involved because he was a fan from Homesdale who worked his way up. So what is to hate about that

Incredible improvement from some - obviously Eze but also Doucoure who played further forward, pressed with the other players and got some tidy attacking passes off rather than standing in front of the central defenders playing square balls.

Great to see the centre backs playing speculative balls and testing the opposition and forwards.

Big negative was our lack of quality in front of goal - only Eze looks like he can cut it IMO.

Mateta has less ability but more energy and presence than Edouard. I'd rather (at my previously modest level) play against Edouard than Mateta.

A bit sanctimonious, we’ve played 1 game. Justified if we play like that all the time, but you haven’t earned the right for that post.. yet!

So pleased.

It has been an unjustified set of results so far this season. So many of which were clearly worthy of draws. So many draws which clearly worthy of credible and justifiable wins.

I feared this was going to be the worst of all.

However the positivity brought justification. Should have been 6-1 but I will take it. Hats off to Roy… who I was not convinced about.

Rodger’s made a change at half time with Wilf going off and it caught us on the hop. Castagne didn’t move from his half with Wilf on the pitch.

I think it was clear to see that PV had run out of ideas and a change was the only way forward. Absolutely massive 3 points today and we deserved nothing less.
