We need to stop "keeping it in the family" We need to appoint the best manager that will take the job and stop trying to resign ex players

Agree.

PL football is very rarely sustained and success attained through sentimental values.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Everything all hinges on the next game.

Win - everything will probably calm down

Draw - rumblings will go on

Lose - the backlash will be immense, especially if we go back to Royball with 10-20 percent posession.

That's fair enough but I still believe a tide needed turning and whilst not a massive endorsement of Roy, I failed to see PV achieving that.

We had Roy for quite a while due to underinvestment in players, we have ended up with him for the same reason.

An astute comment. Parish will now believe that Roy is to blame.

Can we get Conte in as a hype man?

We wouldn't get to see his over-exuberant goal celebrations very often though...

In all honesty, if everyone on here was thinking that Palace had the pick of every out of work football manager for our vacant position this close to the end of the season must be totally deluded.
Having not won a match in 2023 and only scored one open goal in 4 games why should anyone want to pick up this sort of challenge?

Now get to the end of the season and hopefully avoid relegation then there can be some sorting out of the squad, a new manager found and Palace can move forwards again.
There was only 2 real choices here, stick with Paddy or bring in Roy & Ray.
All we have to do is get behind the team and support them in their quest for 10-12 points from the remaining matches.
In our favour is that our run in is better than the teams around us!

Had a good laugh when the notification came through to my phone this morning. Roy is no upgrade from Vieira at this stage, however is probably the idea caretaker appointment. Really typical Palace but he has my backing as any other Palace manager would.

Let's remember that, for a while, under PV, young players came and wanted to play for him, and grew hugely as players under him. We also played a style of football that made watching Palace a more enjoyable experience that it had been for ages.
What changed?
We played a lot of top sides. and lost Shaun Derry.
Players lost their motivation and aggression.
Seems to be a clue there.

Being negative is a waste of energy, whoever is manager gets my full support, we now have our most successful chairman, plus our most successful manager, together, enjoy it, support it, we are a special club, be positive, I also feel the most important appointment is Ray Lewington, I look forward to him bellowing at the players during games, I sit a few rows behind dugouts so can hear the influence he has, not being critical but it was not the same with PV

Frankly, won't be watching much til the end of the season. Will obviously dip in and out of it. Not happy at all with the appointment. Pissed off with the whole club. Roy did his job and went gracefully thanks. I truly wish he'd had the grace to turn this down. This smacks of, for the money. Roy will likely lose and respect he had. The team will likely play awful football and grind out maybe one win and a few draws. We will go down.
I'm starting to somewhat look forward to being a young competitive team in the Championship. But I'm not at all happy right now. We're a joke. It's not exactly the first time we've been total dog poo but this was all imminently avoidable. This is poor running of a club. It is not how a hundreds of millions turnover business should be run. A Tesco's Express should not be run like this.

For the money!! He is 75 and a multi millionaire. I’m not 75 yet but I’d imagine it must be a nice feeling to be 75 and a club in the best league in the world still wants your services. Fair play to him for taking it on.

Lets hope we get a new manager bounce.

Let's also hope we don't take the lead and sit back. It didn't work before and why would that change.

We should go for an attacking game at home and counter attack away.

10 men behind the ball at home V Bournemouth etc will be suicide.

We have 8 six pointers to play out of ten games. That's 8 cup finals as far as I'm concerned. Lets treat them as such. Starting on 1 April.
