A lot of fans are critical of our forwards and midfield highlighting their inability to score goals and indicating they were totally ineffective in the game. We did not lose and could have won. Now look at Newcastle spent millions their £63 million striker was no better than Our forwards. Their midfield and forwards had no more shots than us on target or otherwise. The goalkeepers from each side kept both their teams in the game. Let’s face it we were away at an intimidating ground and came away with a hard fought point and a clean sheet. Of the two teams who should be more dissatisfied with their team us or the Toon. Now that's how I saw it. I quite enjoyed the match, and am pleased with the point. Away at a hostile ground to a moneybags team, a point should always be respected and valued.

You’ll probably have a long wait but be ready for a Shearer total meltdown on MOTD tonight. The Mag has already described PV a disgrace for not agreeing that Mitchell pushed him in the back. VAR rules in our favour every now and again.

Decent point up there. They are going to cause a lot of problems for teams with their set pieces. They have some big players in that side. I thought Ayew was our MOTD today. Overall I am reasonably happy with our start to the season, especially as we can only improve. There is not going to be an easy game all year so every point on the board is a good point.

Good result. Pleased with that. Add it to Man City and Liverpool for the 'Glad It's Out Of The Way' pile. ;
We didn't play well but we nicked a point. Move on. Edited by doombear (03 Sep 2022 10.54pm)

No you are right, opportunities are not the problem, it is putting them in the net that is. We have scored 7 goals in league matches, 4 by Wilf, an own goal and just two by the rest of the team. Yes, the keeper saved well today but how often are we going to hear the same story rather than he finished it well. We need a forward who when faced with half a chance, buries it. I quite like both Edouard and Mateta but neither finishes like say Murray or Andy Johnson. Maybe they don’t exist any more for less than £50m.
