Some sort off swap deal with Connor, zaha doesn't want to sign a new contract, personally I want Connor back.

Its not about what Zaha wants/deserves etc, it's about what is the best for CPFC that matters. I never understand fans saying we shouldn't stand in his way to play in the Champions league with a bigger club, he tried that and failed, we took him back and enabled him to rebuild his reputation. Why would you want to sell your best player to a richer rival, it doesn't make sense. Wilf, for better or worse, plays with his heart on his sleeve. If a reasonable offer comes in from one of the big clubs and we turn it down I can almost guarantee his head won't be right and it will affect his game, plus we might get sulky Wilf again who doesn't smile when he scores and just moans at everyone. My hope is Wilf himself decides he wants to at least see out his contract and continue the great form he is showing, as that is the best outcome for us.

THIS, is a very valid point & well made. Thanks. I think it would make little or no sense for either us or him. He'll have so many more options as a free agent next summer both financially and where he wants to play football. Not saying it cant happen but the money involved in both transfer fee and wages would probably be astronomical.

If he goes to Chelsea then we have a clear interest in one of their players so there's a potential deal to be done.

Economic sense that Wilf stays with us now. its a shame that Football is a business where the heart often dominates the wallet.

Wilf wll end up a lost soul that Chelsea seem to often make of their signings . For his sake I hope he stays ,he needs to be playing every week which means he is at his level with the Palace

The simple fact is that a player of Wilf's quality is way beyond our finances in the transfer market. His services for one season are more valuable than his current monetary worth. If he stays, he might then decide to sign a new contract, if he hasn't already done so.

If he likes sitting watching games he should go th Chelsea and enjoy at least half the season not playing.

If Wilf does play tonight then how he leaves the pitch will perhaps be very telling, as if he is off then it will be his last chance to say goodbye.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
