Very frustrating performance overall.

Passing and decision making in final third today was very poor. Zaha and Ayew guilty of killing many attacks in promising positions by misplacing a pass or losing possession. Bad day at the office and another opportunity gone where we could have collected 3pts.

Still have to remind ourselves the team is in transition... it was frustrating last year not winning without the ball, and it's frustrating this year with the ball!

Clutching at straws for positives but it was good to see MacArthur back, another good game from Mitchell and the two CBs looking very assured.

Next up an easy 3pts against Chelsea and then the Roy derby!

Perfectly put.

Being happy with not conceding a goal from Brentford is like being happy not to find Mrs Brown's Boys funny.

Maybe depends on how high your expectations are before we start a game, mine are always pretty lower than Willo's.

At least we got a point more than I thought we would get.

The blame for this sits with Vieira. I understand starting Ayew in away games to offer more support to Ward, however, it was clear Brentford offered little going forward. Subs were needed much earlier to give them a chance to impact the game.

2 points from these last two games is piss poor. Minimum was 4. Saints managed 4 points from Spurs and Utd away so our 2 against Norwich and Brentford looks pathetic.

Next up are Chelsea, Burnley & Watford. 6 points or we are bang in trouble.

Agreed, Ayew makes sense against the bigger clubs as he works hard and makes us tougher to beat. But Brentford were absolutely there for the taking and that selection showed them far too much respect.

Also, please never play Schlupp in central midfield again.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I only saw the first half , fell asleep for the second (true story).
Do our strikers practice scoring goals in training?
Eduard put a lovely ball through to ayew, one on one and he can’t even hit the target, you’d get slated for that in Sunday football. We’ve got 4/5 strikers that are all reasonable (none any better that reasonable) at the areas of play that don’t include scoring goals. At actually finishing chances they are all f*cking useless.
Actually every Palace player (Gallagher is a Chelsea player) , are a joke in front of goal. The 2 big lumps at the back are pony at attacking the ball , no point us even getting corners.
The midfield just smash the ball over the bar from the edge of the box and when the forwards miss they don’t even look surprised.
If that chance fell to Antonio, Bowen etc they win one nil.
The same people on here arguing for benteke, mateta etc, all your favourites are f*cking wa*kers and shouldn’t be called forwards.

Take conors goals and assists away and we’d be bottom 3.
I started this post quite reasonable but have got more wound up as I have been typing.
They are f***i*g sh*t in front of goal though aren’t they.

Brentford setup to ensure they didn't lose and we still don't have the quality to break teams down when they sit deep, as we saw at Norwich. Much better teams than us have had that problem over the years, although I do question why Olise was on the bench and not Ayew. A big frustration was our corners where until Olise came on every corner went to the same place making it easy for Brentford to clear.

Some people giving Wilf stick but he worked really hard for the team all game and looked the most likely to produce something. In any other game Brentford would be down to 10 men with Canos lucky not to get a second booking for dragging Wilf down, but in fairness the ref was lenient all game. Hopefully McArthur able to start ahead of Schlupp next game as we need more quality in the middle and more leadership.

I think at the end a pen for Wilf would have been a bit soft, but VAR barely looked at it and the player clearly had his arms around Zaha. The same for Guehi's handball in the first half. Why is it when the big teams get a VAR call it gets reviewed multiple times even when it seems quite clear? It does seem to feel like they're desperately trying to find a decision, or they view it as more worthy of their attention.
