Agree wholeheartedly with this... He's been stealing a living off us for a number of years now.. Why on earth would he want leave the bed he's made here.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

He’s no Harry Kane, but is still probably the best option we’ve got.

What if we offered him a signing-OFF fee, like 2-3 million?

I don't want to see any of our strikers go until we have brought in replacements.

At the end of the day. Benteke has cost us a fortune and will continue to until we bring in satisfactory replacement. The way we are operating now rotating 3 strikers during most matches is a good solution based on current personnel. At least we are maximising very limited energy levels in our two big front men. Change will eventually come but we have to be patient. Now PV is here change has already begun.

Burnley moving for Benteke to replace their £25million striker with a much cheaper option is a good measure to show the level Benteke has fallen to. Had Newcastle come in for him at £25m then different. But Burnley to replace their departed man at £8m says it all. Edited by dreamwaverider (18 Jan 2022 8.40am)

Perhaps the club thought the Eduoard deal might fall through, and Benteke was a safe option. I'm not 100% sure of the chronology, so correct me if I'm wrong.
