Milner said in an interview a couple of years ago that Wilf is the most difficult opponent he has come up against. He's previously been sent off for being unable to cope with him and he really was a lucky boy not to get at least one if not two yellow cards. One tackle he literally chopped our player down at the knee.

One thing I will say is that I thought Liverpool outmuscled us in midfield even if you ignore the fouls. That could be a worry when we play Dyche's pit workers and other more physical teams.

Ageee. Luka must come in.

Agree mate. Was surprised that Eduard never started, but Benteke won all the headers in both boxes from corners, if he could head the ball down he would get 15 goals a season, but he doesn’t, so he won’t. When Eduard came on he missed a couple, but with his runs , he looks like a real striker, I’d start him next game.
Think our keeper pulled off some great saves, I know people are saying he should catch the ball, but you don’t catch point blank saves, I’d rather see him push the ball out for a corner, rather than keep it in play.
Thought our 2 full backs done ok.
Anderson for me is absolute quality, a more complete footballer than most of the players in front of him.
The one we bought from chelsea, can’t spell his name, also very good.
Jimmy Mac has been quality. Gallagher, all action, I’d offer £30m for him in January and probably accept paying a bit more.
Ayew was a pain in Liverpool’s arse as was zaha.
Olise (probably spelt wrong , looks decent.
Jairo, I’d rather not see much of him anymore to be honest. If we need to bring on someone with a bit of pace , I’d rather schlupp (not sure if he was on the bench ) to sure things up , Hughes, then luka.
I’ve forgotten Kouyate , who does an unglamorous job, still not sure if he’s decent or not.
All in all, I like it now , like that the players all want the ball, like that we look comfortable in possession, like that the center backs (Anderson mainly ) wants the ball from the keeper and can ping a 60 yard cross field ball to feet.
Get eze, olise, Hughes, Eduard all involved , I think we will have an exciting season and bother every team below the top 4.
2nd favourites for relegation , oh please f*ck off.

Schlupp injured I think.

Not for me. If he works his way back in the team , fair enough. But on his last 40 performances, plus with the new signings and Jimmy Macs form , the bench is where he should be.

Can’t argue with the result, but we gave them a game. Not sure why Jairo always seems to be facing the wrong way. He lost Salah for the second and turned his back for the 3rd, he does this all the time…

It’s horses for courses though isn’t it. Some games Hughes will be a better option, some games it’ll be Luka where we need more steel.

Andy Madley was a disgrace today. Why is it that the "top" teams get a free pass to consistently foul. Both their fullbacks should have been booked twice over! Ward has one slightly rough challenge and get booked for dissent! The man was a joke. Liverpool on balance deserved the win but they didn't need "help" from the ref. Good to see PV giving him a bit of a rev up at the end because the tw*t deserved it.

Agree with most, my take:

All the defenders looked good. The 3-0 score was not reflective of the game.
Ayew will likely lose his place to Olise, and that's okay. I do think he's the first to be replaced.
Jairo just isn't good enough. He's okay as a sub, but I think he'll only play if someone is hurt.
Eduourd will replace Benteke as the starter. He's better. I may get some flak, but his headers are better too. Tekkers tends to just hit it up, Eduoard aims it to someone. As for the foul on Tekkers, I really think the defender didn't have an idea where he was, so didn't drag his leg.
Luka isn't an offensive player. Maybe under PV I'm proved wrong and I hope so, but I wouldn't have put him in.
Love Guita, but let's see how Butland does.

Oh, and the only 2 games we've lost this year was away at Stanford Bridge and away at Anfield.

Jairo too ponderous in defence, but, no disgrace, we could have had a couple of goals

It seems the Premier League makes sure they have their promotion tools winning. Southampton was denied a clear penalty vs Man City, so was Burnley at home to boring Arsenal. We could - not saying we should - have a pen too. If it had been Mane in Tekkers situation, the ref would surely have pointed to the spot.
But all credit to our lads. They fought for every inch and like in the 7-0 hammering at Selhurst, where we played a good 1st half (0-3 down), we gave them a fight for the full 90 minutes.
Hit 2 posts in the opening minutes. Besides, it is a joy to watch our back four after the newcomers took over the central defence. Me too, would also like to see Butland sometime, but Guita was good today. Could do very little about any of the goals.

There were encouraging aspects to our play yesterday but again we failed to score for the third time in the five games we have played.
It’s early days, but we can’t continue with this sort of rate of return to get points on the board.
In my view Ayew and Benteke as two of a front three will not score enough goals, particularly with the style Vieira is trying to implement.
We have to hope that Edouard will contribute, that Eze and Olise will provide more creative spark and that midfielders other Gallagher will chip in with a few goals.
