I don't think anyone would have a problem with paying him a very tasty bonus based on goals scored and also perhaps on assists (so he doesn't get too selfish).

Not worth £85K a week basic though.

But if we could show him how a decent return would allow him to earn £100K a week its win win.

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

I'd almost have Prince Edward up front at this rate.

Apparently he scores on a regular basis around old compton st.

He's no Andrew, that's for sure.

So are you suggesting that '' our talented youngsters '' - whoever you think they may be, are all immediately thrust into regular first team ?

That’s not quite what I said. But yes, if we have a talented youngster who we think is good enough then I would give him game time rather than develop him outside the first team set up.

I gave examples of young players who have flourished as a result of being given opportunities to play at the highest level.

We only have one player at present who to my mind fits this profile: JRS. In his case I’m delighted that PV has given him his debut and included him in the squad yesterday. As the season progresses I hope and expect to see more of him. IMO that is the correct approach to nurturing that type of talent.

Today’s striker that we are linked with is Nkethiah from Arsenal.
I have to confess I know little about him or his playing style , but at 22 he doesn’t seem to have made much of an impact up to date.
Arsenal possibly need to recoup some of their recent expenditure and in traditional Palace style we have offered half of what they want (see Armstrong,Hughes).
Personally I would have been happy to get Armstrong.
Busy, sharp, makes runs in behind defences and a good finisher.
Certainly different to other players in our squad.

Apparently we're lining up a 10m bid for Nketiah (who's injured btw). Good young player but IMO another Tekkers, JPM, Bats type player.
10m would surely get Edouard who is a pacey AJ type of striker we need and a proven goal scorer. Even though Scottish league he knows where the goal is. Not EK for me thanks.Edouard a no brainer. Just my opinion of course

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong

what does 'Tekkers, JPM, Bats type player' even mean? Not sure Bats has ever even attempted to win a header.

Ironically Nketiah and Edouard are actually quite similar type players, but Edouard is probably a bit bulkier. But both are fast, direct and good finishers.
