I cannot imagine you accepting having to answer twice, and would doubtless tell me to do my own work! There are only 12 pages to look through!

Whether a statue of this guy is "anti-British" is another matter on which I make no comment. What I said was:-

"Putting up a statue to someone who has no direct connection to us, when there are many other candidates whose contributions to our country have established merit, seems strange.

If he deserves to be recognised, and I pass no comment on that, then it would be appropriate in his home country".

I knew you couldn't manage it. So you don't think this statue is a deliberate anti British statement?

Without knowing the reasoning behind the decision to erect it, no-one can reach an informed opinion on that. Anyone thinks otherwise is simply reacting to their prejudice and biases.

Mealy mouthed as ever.

I don't need others to tell me what is plain and obvious.

It could well be argued that Sadiq Khan, in wanting this particular statue, is acting on his prejudice and bias.

The problem with that, as it is with most of your opinions, is what is "plain and obvious" to you isn't actually true.

As Mark Twain is alleged to have said, “The trouble with the world is not that people know too little; it's that they know so many things that just aren't so.”

I don't think he actually takes the decision, does he?

As Mayor, he is almost bound to speak out in favour of it, to defend the Commission of experts who do decide.

This is therefore an easy target for those who hate Khan, but quite possibly an inappropriate one.

I don't like Khan at all. Hate is too strong a word. The commission of experts is just a smoke screen for these kind of decisions, in my opinion. It is a bias and prejudice decision.

To be fair to Khan, he is rather clever at playing this modern game of politics.

Sets up a commission that he knows will come up with bat-s*** crazy suggestions like this one. It gets put out there for a few days and people like us discuss/go nuts about it.

Then he steps up and says it's not going to happen. To those on the Left he can play it that, sadly, due to Gammons like some of us then he cannot follow through on the suggestion and then, to those on the Right, he can proclaim himself as the man of reason, not willing to listen to those lib-tards.

Yes, loathe Khan for all the right reasons but never underestimate the man. He knows what buttons to push and pushes them with some aplomb.

Quoting Clemens does not disguise mealy mouthed, naive deluded twaddle.

What possible reason could there be to erect a statue of this man other than to besmirch the reputation of Britain, encourage guilt and self hate among White people and create a new self serving mythology?

Dragging up devisive history has a purpose. It suits those who gain from division and wish to empower themselves at others expense.

There could be many reasons which, unless we heard them from those making the decisions, it is impossible to reach an opinion on. Don't though let that get in the way of you trotting out your usual biases and prejudices, which you routinely lay bare. Rarely though quite as clearly as in this last response.

These were the nominations. Regardless of why the choice was made the others aren’t particularly inspiring either.

Because you would trust their word on the subject?

Why do you keep using words like prejudice and bias when you know that there is no such thing as unbiased or unprejudiced?
You just talk meaningless tosh designed to obfuscate the awkward truth.
