Just turned on having read this thread. Presenter called Tom Harwood. Looks an absolute amateur, stuttering away. Not good enough.

Of course the proof is in the pudding but I would be willing to hazard a bet that given all this free publicity for GBN that if their viewing figures hold up, enough people will still want to advertise with them. Now so far I have not seen a single product that I personally use as part of this supposed 'boycott' but if I do, then I will use my own commercial freedom to not buy their products. This can work both-ways. Personally, if I was launching a product that I wanted to associate with being a bit edgy, then GBN would be one of the places I would want to be advertising. All very punk now.

Now we live in a world in which a cricketer has his career effectively scuppered because of daft tweets he sent when he was 18 and yet somehow the same people who cheered that one will now proclaim IKEA as being honourable.

A missed opportunity is how I’d sum it up If someone professional had actually planned this properly, obtained more funding and therefore more talent… it might have had a chance Still might, if they can get their act together. Otherwise it’s absolute amateur hour run by industry castaways

Isn’t this a bit silly? Plenty of brands that you could say the same thing about. Starting with VW. Difference is of course that it’s 2021 and they’re not in fact run by Nazis. But y’know, whatever
