That's just a unilateral threat/action from France and has nothing to do with the 'EU'. As a sovereign nation, France or in fact any other country within or outside of the EU can take any action it sees fit. In fact that's been seen on multiple occasions during the pandemic when sovereign nations who are EU members and within the Schengen zone, closed their borders, absolutely zilch to do with the EU.

You're just showing your 'little England' hatred of the EU.

I give you 1/10, can try better but probably not capable.

Oh aren’t you a little bitch? A troll getting rattled? Maybe they’re showing their hatred of the UK. We know they are not the UK’s greatest fans.

It’s this paragraph where it states “Europe.” He brought Europe into it in his quote. And he shouldn’t have and didn’t need to - hence my comment about France. But we (Jersey/UK) are part of Europe so he’s not only an idiot but another who cannot select appropriate language.

“Europe, France has the means - that's written in the deal.”

"With regards to Jersey, I would remind you, for example, of electricity transmission by underwater cable. So, we have the means. Even if I would regret getting to that point, we will if we have to."

I appreciate accuracy and facts aren’t your strong points, as shown yesterday, but I had rather hoped for a little more intelligence.

So do I but I also climb hills and gaze into the distance so I have some idea what might arrive in time.

I don't think anyone can forecast what might happen in this area with any degree of confidence so this is only an alternative scenario that seems plausible.

And there lies the problem, people like you still fail to understand the difference between Europe and the EU, simple primary school level knowledge and no doubt you voted for brexit with that lack of knowledge. I meet many British immigrants like you who say the UK "left Europe, isn't it great". Unbelievable but a true reflection of the uneducated levels of those who think they 'took back control
but at least it provides us with good entertainment. It's almost turned into a kind of sport when we meet them.

What do you mean “ people like him”? Please explain to us the great unwashed. Your reply sums up the attitude of many remoaners. Holier than thou attitude, claims that those that voted Brexit were all uneducated racists. At least most on here don’t continually slag off the English, you really must have some gripe with this country, lucky you left isn’t it

What is the point of 'associate ' terms? Thought you wanted to reform from within? As associates we would surely be unable to do that? You really think Macron and Merkei will just say welcome back on the same terms? No they will try and punish the UK for having the temerity to leave...but it isnt happening (unless weak as piss Starmer becomes PM and that aint happening either!

You have no more idea of what the future may hold than anyone else. We could re-enter. The EU could collapse. We could all be obliterated in a nuclear catastrophe.

If we re-entered it would follow negotiations. As, in my opinion, we would never accept the single currency my guess would be that would be a pre-condition to those negotiations.

That would likely mean that we would be re-entering a reformed EU. One with a looser structure and probably created to accommodate those who desired ever closer integration and those who don't.

The idea of a "two-speed" Europe has been around for at least 40 years and will, I think, eventually be the model that is settled on. Should we re-enter we would almost certainly be part of the second, outer, group. Quite possibly the leading member of that group. That's what I mean by an associate member. It's all speculation but the fact remains that it is a very possible future outcome.

With the out of control Chines rocket heading towards earth, your first paragraph may be very near the mark ( let’s hope not)

Well, for a start I'm not a 'remoaner', 'brexiteer' or any other group you would like to associate me with. My views are as a British citizen viewing the country from outside looking in. Who's 'slagging off the English'? Not me, where did I say that? Who mentioned that 'those who voted brexit were all, uneducated racists'? Oh, look, it was you, not me.

You seem incapable of defending anything you say and as I said previously, when faced with facts you simply pass them by. Trying to plant an negative 'image' on someone by claiming things that they never actually said is just a sign of someone who is incapable of adding anything to a discussion and is angry at realising that fact.

In the same mess as everyone else but still with a determination to do all I can, modest though it may be, to mitigate the worst impacts in the time I have left. Not for me. It will make little or no difference to my life. For my family and the country I love.

You are full of s***.

You lambasted me for speaking out against continued mass immigration because it was a lost cause and here you are whining on about BREXIT. Your hypocrisy is only matched by your capacity for self delusion.

Instead of spending your remaining days resisting, why don't you see that both issues are part of the same problem. Britain is being undermined by creeping globalism. Its culture, its sovereignty, everything that we recognize as British.
BREXIT was a spanner in the works for that trend and next we have to tackle the insane number of immigrants entering Europe if anyone actually cares about preserving our heritage.
The globalists and here today gone tomorrow politicians don't care. They think short term gain is all that matters.
You obviously agree with them.

You really are an idiot. Read my post again. HE spoke of Europe when he clearly meant the EU - that was exactly what I was articulating. This is what I said:-

It’s this paragraph where it states “Europe.” He brought Europe into it in his quote. And he shouldn’t have and didn’t need to - hence my comment about France. But we (Jersey/UK) are part of Europe so he’s not only an idiot but another who cannot select appropriate language.

This clearly implies he meant the EU but said Europe. So, in reality, a French politician cannot distinguish the difference whereas I clearly did, hence calling him out on that.

You seem incapable of understanding basic English or you are so entrenched in your pro EU world that you neither read nor understand.

As stated in a previous post - which you also clearly didn’t read - I voted remain. My views are purely concern over the direction the EU project is now taking. I’ve said that countless times, but you ignore what you cannot answer.

You have, once again, proven yourself to be lacking in too many basic skills for any form of rational and educated debate. You speak of facts but you keep getting them wrong and when you’re called out on them you squirm.

Your posts have been very negative, am I the only one to think that? How gave I not defended anything I have said? I defended the BF staffing but you chose not to accept my explanation( your prerogative). I asked why you travelled during a pandemic, which you have neither admitted or denied ( whose avoiding what now?).
You have questioned posters intellect on more than one occasion.
As you criticise me for not defending my points, what did you mean by “people like him”?
