If I had to go to all the hassle of having to pay for the parking I would have probably just gone to Tesco's. Ok, so maybe a drop in the fiscal ocean but still, money going to a local economy rather than a corporation. Croydon should be more concerned at the moment with the OAP who cannot go for their weekly swim or visit the library than f***ing Polar bears and s***. Think and act local. That is the job of a Council. Leave the bigger s*** to central Government.

The local council is now run by independents whose concern is for the locals not the dictates from Central Office.

You have a point but degrading the mess this planet is on because of human greed should not be shrugged off with irreverent arrogance.

Interesting turn of events. This LTN scheme has been a nightmare in the Crystal Palace area and if it is removed, all the better. Also understand that the parking fee hike has been delayed. Turns out, surprise surprise, that the council got caught out telling porkies about it being nothing to do with revenue raising.

If anyone’s seen the London news programs today they’ll have seen the squalor and state of these flats in Regina Road in south Norwood. Like the tradesman in the news clip, I’ve never seen anything like it. Thick mould everywhere, water dripping everywhere, carpets completely wet, floors flooded, electricity all switched off apart from in the bedroom, no fridge.

I was really taken aback by that one flat covered top to bottom in mold. Genuinely upsetting to know that he'd been reaching out and nothing was done. And the woman with the sick kids (due to the living conditions) basically contemplating killing herself. Grim and inhumane.
