Blimey, am I the only person on here who's horrified by that result? Liverpool aren't going to get relegated, and as far as I'm concerned, every point gained by teams below us makes our position that bit more perilous.

Yes. It’s totally absurd to think that all three of Newcastle, Weed and Fulham (plus Burnley and Southampton, which is more likely) could leapfrog us. I’d be reasonably confident of staying up even if we lost our last 11 games which of course won’t happen.

Some of the pessimism amongst Palace fans is astounding. Time to enjoy the Brighton struggle. Well done Fulham.

I can't speak for everyone else, so I don't know if you are the only one. Surely I'm not in the horrified group, as I think that we are no more in the relegation fight group of teams. Regardless if we lose or not tonight.

If I had predicted that Liverpool would lose 6 consecutive games at Anfield there would have been cries of "Absurdity" aimed in my direction!

There is every chance that we will only collect a point from our next 4 games.

I agree regarding Liverpool, but Willo, you are the biggest pessimist on this forum.

Even if we get 1 point from the next four, which could happen, we’d be on 35 points. That would have been enough to survive over the past four seasons. Is it realistic to think we could then lose our last 7?

We’re close to having Zaha back, Schlupp is back and we have plenty of winnable games. This Palace relegation talk is total nonsense.

Good day at the office so far with the first 2 results let's hope Palace can top off a good weekend with a win.

Did you mean that line about 7 losses

Sheffield U and WBA are gone. This leaves one relegation spot.
Did you see the Newcastle game today? They were woeful. Brighton have hit the buffers and the confidence has drains out of them. In a couple of games time they play each other.
I think it is highly unlikely they will both suddenly hit form enough to overturn the points gap there is at the moment.
One more win will do it, or three draws which is more likely.

Then it’s time to sit back and see who of Brighton or Steve Bruce’s boys go down win-win

There's only really 3 games left where you'd expect us to pick up points. The rest are against top half sides. It could all go wrong, it will require a whole lot of things to wrong for us, and a whole lot will have to go right for all the others. The likelihood is probably over 1/100 and its already happened to us in the last 100 years with Oldham... so we really are talking about lightning striking twice.

Neither Newcastle or West Brom went for it today. West Brom need to climb above two teams so it was a huge mistake for them. I think they are now f***ed.

That leaves Fulham, Brighton, and Newcastle. I hope Fulham stay up. I think Newcastle will be the team to drop.

Relegation odds at the moment are between 25/1 and 33/1.
Brighton are 5/1
Fulham 2/1
Newcastle evens

If people are convinced that we have a good shout at relegation, put £15 on at 33/1 at William Hill and pay for your season ticket if we are relegated.

For Newcastle to survive, they probably need to beat Brighton and or Fulham and that drops that team further into the sh'ite.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I know a learned chap who correctly predicted the relegated teams last campaign before the season started.

Prior to this season he predicted to me that the teams to plummet through the relegation 'Trapdoor' would be Sheff Utd,WBA and Newcastle.
I was in disagreement but I do have a degree of confidence that at least 2 of the teams mentioned will be in the Championship next season.

I expect you had Palace instead of Newcastle!

Recently when I mentioned to him that we could well end in the 'Bottom three' he thought I had taken leave of my senses.
It would be some feat if he correctly predicted the relegation teams two seasons running.
