Well that certainly puts a different slant on things! Of course absolutely no place for that anywhere let alone at football!! Wish the OP had mentioned that at the start!! Agreed lesson for the poster to learn. He probably thought he had made that clear and so got upset with our reactions. He would have had a different response from the start if he had spelled out the anti Muslim songs rather than fixate on TR. No place for that stuff I hope they ban whoever it was. I've no idea if that's true or not and have certainly never seen it myself. But she said it, and with India's societal history, it wouldn't amaze me. Edited by Ginger Pubic Wig (30 Oct 2019 12.12pm)

If horses of different colours are ridden by Tommy Robinson in a chant describing these actions in a positive and uplifting manor, do the fans chanting the words still - 1. need to have explained to them that anything involving Tommy Robinson is racially provocative, and aligns them to the EDL the right-wing 2. need to have racism explained to them before they realise there overt expressions of it are offensive and detrimental to the club 3. need to respect that a club with three fans (all 3 being entirely unrelated to the afore mentioned) still wouldn't want 100 fans turning up on a Saturday chanting the name of Tommy Robinson, unclear about these three steps, NOT EVEN LUTON! It doesn't make it alright. Originally posted by becky
There have been many and often replies that consist of one emoji - this post is treated in exactly the same way. A post of multiple lines of text speak would be a horse of an entirely different colour.

Edited by Badger11 (30 Oct 2019 11.11am) Honestly, the fact that neither of you thought a tommy robinson chant was 'anti Muslim' is incredible. There's a reason that there's no place for chanting his name, and it's not because people are 'too sensitive'.

And yes people are to sensitive... If you wet your pants over simply hearing a name then I suggest you don't watch Bambi as there's a scene on the film where a deer gets shot... You'll probably end up in therapy!!

Let not go into denial here because there is racism within the ranks of the palace supporters like in most clubs within the UK it just for each individual club to take a good hard policy against those individuals and get them out! When they show their ugly head you have to laugh at them because in this day and age they look retarded

I have made it clear on the TR thread I am not a fan of his I also said politics should be left out of football. That said chanting someone's name maybe offensive but it is not racist which is why I kept asking for more information. Eventually we were told the original issue which is far more important than TR was that people were singing anti muslim songs. That is unacceptable and at the risk of repeating myself what the Op should have made clear in the first place. Chanting TR after he complained was a nasty response by those concerned but actually a side issue to the bigger offence. As far as I am aware nobody has every been prosecuted for singing his name. These individuals should be prosecuted and banned for the anti muslim chants which is illegal.

Having read some of the posts of this ilk at this board a few years back I stopped logging in. It is in my view a sad outcome of the society that we create that I, as a lifelong Palace fan, fear the wrath of my own fellow supporters. I no longer log in to this site, and only logged in to comment about this very point. Though a lifelong Palace fan, I for one know that because we are a big South London side, we will always have the Hillairs, Writey's, Brighty's, Solako's, Puncheons, Zaha's and Wan Basika's joining the ranks that we will all cheer, love and admire together as Palace fans. Despite some on this board and now on our Terraces. Having read some of the posts in this topic, I am saddened that in this modern age, many have not applied their own natural gift of critical thinking in that, the way to beat the algorithms is to do some research with committed integrity for the sake of sanity into any such subject. Otherwise, accept to be kept in a comfort bubble of algorithms. It makes a lot of $$$ but not much sanity. [Will androids really dream of electric sheep? Given that they will read and therefore mimic our words and are Algorithms the new Crack?]

I don't get why people would be chanting 'Tommy Tommy' at Selhurst myself. Seems a bit odd and out of place. That said all the hot air about racism and the eager virtue signalling that we have seen here is all nonsense.
