Ok, willo, I get what you're saying. But please tell me who's the better deal: 28 year old free agent Lewis Holtby or 8 million injury prone Delph?? Ok, Delph can cover at left back, which Holtby can't. But Holtby can also cover as attacking midfielder, right wing, left wing. According to the link below he doesn't appear to be that injury prone in recent seasons.Last season he played in 25 games and the previous in 35 games. In terms of Holtby, I believe I posted on HOL that I was impressed with him when I have seen him play in this country but I haven't seen him play for quite a while. Though living 12,000 miles from Selhurst Park . I was 60 years a go a regular fan and keep in touch finishing second in the Prediction League last year. We should all understand that Palace continues to live on a fine line between operational receipts and operational costs. This is what makes ground improvements so VITAL. The TV revenues boost the Profit and Loss account and so sales and purchases of players is ultimately what adds value to the clubs' balance sheet or destroys it. I understand the Americans have made 'convertible loans' (for which they receive interest payments) and have NOT subscribed new share capital to boost the balance sheet. If I am correct these so called 'investors' are not of the generous variety who are willing to lose money, but are rapacious investors keen to extract the maximum return on their capital. I support Parish's desire to replace those American 'leaches' with new people who share Parish's passion for the future. Armed with such funds and confidence we shall RISE ABOVE the current survival strategy.

I don't understand why we don't have any money to spend. We got over £100m in TV/prize money last season again plus we've sold AWB for £45m. I know we have very high wages (due to paying Benteke and others crazy sums) but surely we must have some money to spend? Why are we not competing with Watford and Southampton for players (similar-sized clubs)? We desperately need at least 1 decent striker yet supposedly all we might get is Ayew who score 1 PL goal in over 20 appearances last season. Why are we not going for someone like Neal Maupay from Brentford? As for the defence, just get Clyne back. All we've signed is another 31 year old keeper. The season starts in just over 3 weeks - another year of struggle beckons at this rate.

The season starts in just over 3 weeks - another year of struggle beckons at this rate. From our last accounts, we were paying £109 for every £100 of revenue and had a wage bill of £117m. We have since then shifted the likes of Punch, Speroni, Sako, Mutch, Lee, Williams, Damo and Cabaye, but we've then brought in players like Meyer, Guaita and Kouyate who I imagine probably even out the outgoing wages. I think we will spend this year as with the AWB money and they way accounts work, we can probably spend £30m on transfer fees with it being reflected as an additional outgoing of £7.5m based on 4 year contracts and show a decent profit. Realistically we need investment, we need to get players like Benteke, Dann and Sorloth off the wage bill and why we renewed Wickham and Souare's contracts unless they are significantly less is beyond me. We really need a change in strategy as well and stop buying Sakho's and Benteke's who come on large fees and high wages and start gambling on potential which will come in on lower fees and wages and have much better chance of higher resale values. If it were me, I would take a punt on Jayden Bogle at right back and Morelos upfront. They'll either be hits and you'll double your money or a waste of money. Rather a waste of money on Morelos at a smaller fee and wages then Benteke at £30m and £120k a week.

CPFC get your f***ing finger out. This is painful. Today, I am running out of patience with the ineptitude of our club. Henderson is our only incoming. The Youth goalie would have done.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

No signings today and no signings tomorrow.... With pre season well underway, how the hell are we supposed to prepare a team before the kick off in August. Our complacency is breathtaking, to sell our right back with nothing lined up is complete madness.

I can imagine Cahill coming in pretty soon. Seems the kind of thing we would do.
