I don't agree.
Palace is an affordable Premier League club. Anyone buying it who was super rich would only be interested in it as a promotional tool or a hobby. Therefore the success of the team and the image of the club would be paramount.
The location of the club does not matter to the millions who watch the PL on TV around the world.
the only thing holding up a transformation of the facilities is money and the practical issues around land purchase and building work.

I would favour a move away from South Norwood because I no longer live near there. The club would be best served by creating easy access to the most possible fans.
Somewhere near the M25 might be a possibility but Palace Park would do.
Anywhere with good road and rail links and some suitable land is an option.
We will never progress beyond where we are without crowds of more than 40K.

we've looked at alternative sites and in particular CP Park - these are dead. It's Selhurst Park or nothing.

Last accounts showed we have £81m of liabilities to pay (probably mainly outstanding transfer fees)so we need to be in Prem League just to service this. Funding for new stand will need to be raised elsewhere. The Yanks leaving is not good news in the short term

I don't believe there's some plot of land near the M25 that we could buy and build a huge new stadium. especially not one near to public transport links. just go on Google maps and ask yourself if you can see a viable place. I can't.

They aren’t ‘leaving’. Their share is up for sale, and this is the important bit, selling to someone else, and being even tighter with money will only make relegation more likely and devalue their shares. You’ve no idea whether their share up for sale is a good or bad thing. Do you also think that if the Americans didn’t want anything spent now that their investment wouldn’t deteriorate and reduce their share value?

I'm sorry to be blunt, but the sort of unambitious narrow minded attitude held by some fans probably goes some way to explaining why we have never amounted anything in our 113 years history.

Rubbish,
its the over ambitious unrealistic attitude of people in charge of Palace in the past that has seen us go into administration twice and be just hours from being liquidated. That there fella is fact.

Is that South of Gatwick and, if so, isn't it a bit far?

Fair enough. I'd also love to see us push on and maybe even challenge for a few trophies.
But how do you want to arrive there? Buying your way (unlikely plus there are rules coming in that prevent it being as easy) or doing it be building a team, investing, reinvesting, nurturing and building with what we have?
Virtually impossible in todays climate of Big clubs getting bigger and the financial gap getting wider and wider.
It used to be a gap between the Premiership and the Championship. Now its between the top six and the remaining 14 clubs. Then theres another gap to the Championship

Can easily see more layers of the cake opening up around the 14 clubs in the PL in the future. Leicester was a huge shock for the top 6 and they've shut the door even more tightly since then.

Copthorne is the actual land and with the access wouldn’t have been a problem I would have thought .

The over ambition in the past came from people who spent more money than they had.

That will not happen at Chelsea or City and it wouldn't happen at Palace with the right owners.

I didn't think this was a difficult concept.

Copthorne has good road links but public transport is very poor. No stations nearby

If we want to do an MK Dons there's room to develop at the old Manston airport. We could be Ramsgate Palace.
