The current squad looks at least 3 players short, and that’s even if Zaha stays.
If Zaha was to go he’s impossible to replace directly and you could argue we would need to replace him with two players - a winger and striker.
Our weakest area is our strikers where I cannot see Sorloth, Wickham, Ayew or Benteke scoring the necessary goals or having the required impact.
Take out Zaha’s goals, assists and ability to win penalties I cannot see where the goals are coming from in this squad.
I don’t think we’ll spend the money required to bring in a top striker so we are probably looking at a loan to come good.
All looks a bit of a gamble at this moment in time.

Agreed, that squad needs a right back, a left back (or a midfielder if you have Schlupp as your other LB) and a winger desperately.

If you run the test of 'if one player is out for 6 months, where do we go next' the cover in those three positions looks dire. And by dire, there isn't any.

Running an interview with Roy, I believe from todayss media day.

In the interview he says that prior to AWB being sold they were looking at bringing in 4 players (not including Henderson). He is hoping and believes club are optimistic at getting the four others done (Think Ayew may be one, and so it's still at 4 as one is AWB replacement).

believe SSN are about to run the interview as a feature.

Cahill has joined, so there is one. Think we will be looking RB, midfielder and striker. Camarasa loan deal could be midfielder.
