I thought the worse aspect of his performance on Saturday was the was he was repeatedly caught offside. Even when the goalie was clearing the ball he was standing in an offside position. That is just laziness.

To be fair pretty much everyone was s***e who started on Saturday. He had one chance in the whole game and got blocked. I reckon it he had had the chances Andros and Wilf had had he would have tucked at least one away. Fair comment as a general note on the game BE, but others performances cannot be used as a reason to justify your own poor play. I’m pretty sure they all walked off saying thank f..k for that and let’s not play like it against Spurs otherwise we will get thumped.

I don’t remember him squandering any obvious chances and I liked the way he closed down their ‘keeper, forcing some rushed clearances that allowed us to keep the pressure on. In fairness to Tekkers I thought he did well when he came on.

I counted five offsides which is pretty bad. There is no doubt that Palace were more effective after he was substituted and I could not believe the boos for that decision. Having said that he is usually a good asset so let's hope that was a one off. Originally posted by Kant

He was caught offside numerous times, 5 sounds fair from what I remember, which in my book is either pure laziness or just stupidity. Should have taken his early chance and quoting Chelsea fans here "He's good when he doesn't have to think about what he's doing but give him too much time to think and he'll f@#k it up". Poor game on Saturday, thought Benteke was far more effective but cannot deny he has helped us since coming and is far more a goal threat than any striker we have had for some time. Let us hope a one off bad day at the office! COYP and Come on Michy!! Get a few more in before the end of the season!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

In some games pre-Huddersfield he has gone through with just the keeper to beat and fluffed his lines.Seen him score with first time shots in the area. This backs up what Chelsea supported have said about him. He had a poor game on Saturday but even the best strikers have off days.

Jury’s out for me. Very good instinctive finisher, goal at Watford was excellent. Struggles in tighter games at home when teams drop deep, movement and reading of game could be better. Would like to keep him for goal threat and see if he develops, but 160k plus hefty transfer fee looks too steep.

He can hardly be described as prolific for a couple of years now. If he stops getting picked for Belgium the game's up and he's an also ran. Of course we will probably pay 30 mil for him and he will be even worse.

Didn't do too badly last season, scoring 24 goals in 46 games in all competitions. Edited by Willo (04 Apr 2019 9.30am)

Edited by Willo (04 Apr 2019 9.30am) I’m guessing Dortmund’s game plan isn’t based on lumping the ball up to batshuayi in the air, a player which I am yet to see challenge for a ball aerially, let alone win a header. If that’s our tactics, if only we had another player alongside him who could assist with this role.. you know for said tactics to be a bit more effective.

If RH is going to use the lump it the field tactics then Benteke is a far better option.Play Batshuayi alongside side him as mentioned, must be worth a shout.
