Serious violent crime massively up year on year. I live in leafy Chiswick and even here people are now being stabbed, mugged and threatened as part of street robberies. A good friend of mine was stabbed in the local park recently for his watch. The police are telling us that gangs are coming in on the tube because people are generally wealthy and an easy/soft target. How bad does it have to get before people admit it’s a serious problem? What metric should we use for this? The only positive thing you can say about Khan is that it’s happening in most of our big city’s. It’s only going to get worse and the only answer we have seems to be massage the figures and blame it on “lack of opportunity” or racism of anything else that excuses those that carry this out. It’s a national disgrace.

I bet there was a public outcry for this on all the doorsteps during electioneering time ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (01 Mar 2019 9.19pm)

It was like a pincer movement by those who can't bare to witness a single example of real 'impossible standards of beauty' and puritanical types. Shutting the real world out more like it. Some people have nice bodies, deal with it .

As with so much destructive behaviour, you need to lat them hit rock bottom so that the only way is up.

So Khan enforces 'modesty on transport poster adverts....then he goes to the Lgbt parade and smiles among half- naked men dancing in thongs? A career politician opportunist if I have ever seen one. Chasing the Muslim vote and then the lefty vote with impunity. If there were votes in eating richtea biscuits he would declare himself their most ardent and longstanding supporter.

A hypocritical opportunist politician. Who'd have thought it?

What a wonderful mayor: he has supported the Muslim community and the LGBTQ community, just a shame about the other several million Londoners he has failed.

A pretty good summary I'd say.

Should have routed the pride parade through tower Hamlets and Newham. Popcorn consumption would have gone up exponentially. On a completely separate point I can remember when pride was considered a sin (but I'm getting old).
