I don't normally like posting comments directly after a game but this game, more than most this season, has really frustrated me. We all know that the team is having a hard time getting results in the League and this cup run should have been the opportunity for fringe players to stake a claim for first time selection, certainly not on tonight's showing though. A few players seem to be up for it tonight but what I saw was a number of players lacking conviction, desire and direction. It really irritated me that it took until the last half hour before anyone showed any urgency and then it was just harebrained and frantic play.

We have made some poor poor signings in the last couple of years. It's not looking good.

As with the shambles against Bristol City last season, not one player currently on the fringes of the first team did anything whatsoever to show that they should be playing. Ayew should be f***ing gone and Soerloth's half hour at the weekend looked like a flash in the pan. Well if we are looking for positives, after the shambles you mention last season in the same competition, we then won three, drew six and lost just one of our next ten league games.

I said it as soon as I saw Sørloth. He's one of the biggest piles of dogshyte I've ever seen at the Palace. And I've seen some dogshyte over the last 45 years.

Grateful I didn't watch this and once you concede first against Pulis team the outcome isn't usually favourable. Interesting to hear comments about Meyer from those who watched game. My view so far is that whilst he's looked tidy he got shrugged off the ball very easily a couple of times on Sunday and doesn't look to have sufficient pace or strength to drive with the ball, beat a player or open up the opposition. So perhaps not what we really needed to complement Luka, Puncheon, Riedewald, McArthur and Kouyate and starting to get a picture of why Roy doesn't appear to fancy him.

I'd be genuinely interested in what people think. He was another big, blonde target man, who looked abysmal.

He's a tidy enough player but not hugely creative on his own. I imagine he'd shine in a team that played a more possession-based style - which makes you wonder why we signed him. A disconnect between transfer team and manager?

With his height and strength he should have been on that with zero issues.
