This is just a way to try and gets votes with out any policy. Wow I just heard a member of the Green party rip Labour to pieces and point out all the environmentally bad policies they currently hold amongst many a local Labour council has just approved a new coal mine. Typical Corbyn knee jerk reaction to grab votes, doesn't think that if he has had a change on the road to Damascus the first thing he should do is bring his party with him. I wonder how many in the party were even aware he was going to make this announcement?

Corbyn just with Brexit is only interested in trying to create chaos, which is straight from the Marxist playbook. The solution? An authoritarian socialist government. World history has shown us this.

World history has shown us this. They would need to purge the Army too brass.......Mind you would they? They are all careerists now....the lefties have even infiltrated the Army management or cowed them anyway....even though they can't do anything about the grass roots. Mind you....I never thought I'd see the day when our Police have turned into what they have.....so nothing surprises me now. Edited by Stirlingsays (29 Apr 2019 11.25am)

I see those idiots are at it again "Extinction Rebellion plans Heathrow drone protest" I hope the police arrest a bunch of them before it even starts there has to be a conspiracy charge or something like it. If they want to protest when not have a go at the people who make the decisions, families going on holiday are not the right targets.

Or celebrities who fly in solely to berate the great unwashed on the damage were doing to the environment.

World history has shown us this. It certainly seems that way. The refusal or inability to state an actual coherent policy on Brexit after three years is quite something!

The UK has done OK with regards to Climate Change. Not perfect but better than many other countries. I don't think we need to go back to driving a horse and cart like some would prefer but a few minor changes should satisfy most sensible people who are concerned with the environment. Phasing out diesel cars a little quicker by offering tax incentives for example. Taxing food manufacturers if they produce packaging that cannot be recycled is another. I think the public is genuinely interested in environmental issues now but these idiot climate protestors threatening Heathrow will just make things harder for the more moderate ones. It's not just people going on holiday how would you feel if you had to fly off to see a sick loved one and you couldn't because Swampy or Emma don't think you should.

Yes, we've made good progress in recent years so it makes sense to be at the forefront of renewables. Being self sufficient in all regards, as a nation all the way down to the individual, is a useful aim to aspire to.

Finally, some sense from Phillip Hammond. These lofty green targets sound fantastic until it f***s up the economy and makes everyone poorer. 'Emissions target could cost UK £1tn, warns Hammond' [Link]

'Emissions target could cost UK £1tn, warns Hammond' [Link] Agreed. It's one thing to have a specific policy e.g. all new cars and buses should be electric. This policy is to too vague. It's fine for a party to have it as an aspiration but legislation should be specific and targetted. Otherwise we end up with another Foreign Aid solution where you have to spend the money rather than addressing the issue.
