What impresses me watching the clips of Max is how brilliant he picks people out with clever passes and his dribbling. Could be out version of Chelsea's Hazard. This will be a major coup should he sign. Get this over the line and quick Palace.

If this happens it’ll be great. How nice will it be to have a player who’s comfortable on the ball for once and pick a forward pass? He’s also quite fast and can dribble which I a bonus. He’s got it all this lad. A lot of teams will be kicking themselves, could be the signing of the season on a free!

He doesn’t lack speed either. I assume if de Souza is also on the way. He’ll fill the spot next to Luka with Meyer on the left. It’s a very versatile system where everyone has their own role. There are definitely similarities with Cabaye. But I think that’s more because Cabaye was an all rounder of a midfielder. And he only really adopted that deeper role with us. Was always more of a box to box type, was known for his intensity too. Different to Meyer in that sense, who’s more of the Ozil/David Silva mould. Can’t help but feel with Drinkwaters name in the mix. Meyer and Drinkwater would turn this lacklustre window into something brilliant. A new striker too and it would be perfection. And a strike force of Wilf and the new guy. Now that would certainly wet the appetite. Edited by Mstrobez (31 Jul 2018 4.00pm) Mecca needs to play in there somewhere..

Lots of fans getting excited about a player whose agent has advertised him still available to other bidders as he does his medical, so if he does sign for us it wasn’t his agent who clouded the signing/medical. Chill.

I am assuming no news is good news on this one... I've seen a few reliable people on twitter indicate that the deal is all but done. Some comments on here about his agent still offering him around during the medical? Can't say I've seen that anywhere. What a fantastic signing for us if we pull it off.
