Had an absolutely horrendous game today. I still favour him over Wayne but if he continues to get bullied in his area like that. Might need to look to Wayne Let’s not get carried away. If even Guaita is not the answer, neither is Hennessey. He had a mare coming for crosses and he looks like a keeper who has been told to do something he isn’t comfortable with. He needs to address that and be able to come and claim or sit tight as the situation demands. If it won’t work out please let’s not stumble forward into another campaign with Hennessey as number 1 - we would need to invest.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Yes good saves , but you would expect a decent keeper to save them , as I said he likes the spectacular. Just perhaps if we had tested the 38 year old Watford keeper with crosses that Guatia had to deal with yesterday then we would be in the semifinals. Truth is we put out a cautious team rather than one with Benteke (or even Wickham) alongside Batshuayi and that cost us.As did not having Sakho and Zaha which is why we should have gone for it with a different style of play?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Vicente Guaita thread' by Midlands Eagle Let’s all have a sense of perspective here. All goalkeepers will at some point misread a cross. They’ve all done it. It was tough conditions yesterday with the wind and he made himself look a fool but he’ll learn from it I’m sure. For me, Guaita has done more than enough since coming into the team to indicate that he has quality. Not many people we quick to praise him when we won consecutive games were they? I think far too often fans for some reason think we should have the perfect players. I don’t know why they think we’d attract them or even be able to afford them! To many Palace fans are getting above their stations. Developing a squad can take a number of seasons. Reflect on our squad of 5/6 years ago and look at the quality we have now. Guaita is an good addition and even if we went and spent £30 million on a goalkeeper, they too may well have misjudged the same cross yesterday that led to their first. I’m sure players pick up on negativity. It’s up to us as fans to to give them a lift.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Vicente Guaita thread' by Midlands Eagle VG has had a number of poor games. Of the top of my head, there was the DeBruynne goal at Man City, he should have stopped Kante's goal for Chelsea, he rashly gave WHU their penalty, he was poor against Man U (didn't move for 2 of their goals - as he didn't for Watford's winner yesterday). Also his kicking if awful. Apart from that he's great!!!

Our results improved with clean sheets at home against Leicester and Cardiff and an impressive win away to Man City where he positioned himself aggressively and made bold decisions throughout the game. Perhaps you could provide detailed breakdown "off the top of your head" of Wayne's last few performances.

We would have been in the draw for the semi with Wayne in goal absolute nonsense! We would have been in the semi if we had anyone who could score a goal occasionally !

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Vicente Guaita thread' by Midlands Eagle Watford were one step ahead of us yesterday, just like they were in the league meetings, tenacious they are tenacious we aren't.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Vicente Guaita thread' by Midlands Eagle Maybe Roy n Ray have seen this in training and there’s some truth to the rumours or Vincente could be heading home. Has to be said if that was Wayne yesterday he would have been crucified. A very worrying performance. Bit erratic isn’t he

If you think that a clean sheet at home to Cardiff was an 'improved result' then you are crazy. The thread wasn't about Hennessey but about VG's costly errors and the fact that he just seems to kneel on the ground as goals go past him. If you do want to compare keeprs, then in his last 2, WH has made 8 saves and conceded 1 goal compared with VG's 7 saves and 4 goals conceded. Yes, WH was at fault for the 1 he let in at Burnley but then made an outstanding save to keep out Crouch's shot - VG would not have saved it as he doesn't have the reach. Sorry, but I just don't see that VG is the answer to our goalkeeping problems.
