Hodgson and Parish both said some may have to go to bring others in but so far no ones left, either means they were telling fibs or that Jach hasn't taken up much of the budget. Either way I think Dembele is worth blowing the budget slightly for his sell on potential. We could see him hit 50mil with the way our market is growing.

My point was that the regulations prohibit 'blowing the budget', even if it is only slightly. The wages bill has to tally - that was a big factor in us selling Murray and Jedinak when we could probably have still found a use for them.

Even if the club want to go overdrawn, or the owners want to put their hands in their pockets to do it, they might not be able to unless (as others have said on here) we sell first so as to free up wages. But who exactly would we sell? Who would buy any of our big earners, and would we want to lose any of them anyway?

What is more likely is that we release at least half of the players who are out of contract in the summer, free up some wages and make a permanent signing then. For now I'd guess a loan is more likely.

My comment was in response to a post which infered that Dembele wanted to leave Celtic whereby Rodgers said he has never asked to move.

Of course transfers can occur in a variety of circumstances - this provides an answer to your question.

As I mentioned transfers can occur due to various circumstances.Perhaps when Rodgers uttered those words that was the Liverpool position at that time.

In terms of Dembele, Rodgers has said that he hasn't given any indication he wishes to leave and I have no reason to doubt his word.That said, players heads DO get turned and mindsets can change dramatically !
