The fault lies 100% with the idiots pretending to be men and ruining the evening for a lot of Palace fans and locals. Neanderthals the lot of them. Hope they get long, long sentences and banning orders if they are caught. No doubt they precipitated the problem. But the point is they should not have been given that power. And the other point is that it's just horrible going to the Amex as a Palace fan which is why I didn't this time. You get kettled yet you get exposed to the BHA 'fans' having a go. You get locked in for ages. You get treated like sh*t and there is an assumption we are all ne'er-do-wells. Sussex Police in my opinion overreact horribly to everything. They should know how to control crowds, they have had to handle them at least since the Mods and Rockers decided they didn't like one another. How did the elderly fans like being locked in for 45 minutes? And don't tell me that was because of 30 or 40 youths jumping a barrier, it happens every damned time. And we get locked in just long enough for the less pleasant BHA fans to gather at places where they can have a pop from behind a nice safe policeman.

Where is the evidence of such Police brutality and 'Heavy handed' tactics ? Let's NOT deflect attention away from the errant hoodlums who decended on the town and the football ground. Usually if you see the word 'kettling' that's police talk for heavy handed and excessive tactics. It sums up how football fans are regarded, when those who are lawfully in possession of tickets are punished and excluded because the police and stewards have failed to succeed in their job - and that's regarded by many as being 'acceptable'. In regards to the turnstiles - surely BHA have the same kind of full frame turn stiles that every ground I've been to have? How the f**k do you 'jump' those.

Nope. They have these weird glass sliding doors (a bit like on the Paris Metro but in toughened glass) so I can see how a youngster (well someone younger/fitter than me!)could vault them so key design fault. And to Rudi's point yes the kiosk staff did have Palace shirts on (sorry didn't take photo).

You come on here with your holier than thou attitude and wind people up. Get over yourself for once and realise that a lot of innocent fans were 1, treated badly by the police and 2, didn't get to see the match. No one has said that certain so called fans were right so do us all a favour and get off your high horse for once ffs. Edited by steph_eagle (29 Nov 2017 3.59pm) Those who really know me would testify that I really don't display "Holier than thou" tendencies and that I am far more self-deprecation than self-promotion. And I really don't believe that I need to get off any 'High horse' to carry out emergency repairs.

The new Cali is a bit huge for their needs and there isn't a T3 equivalent. I believe they use Beemers now like everyone else.

I take it that some of those who were 'assaulted' by the police , have the offending officers numbers/id's so they can make an official complaint? that allied to the fact that most in this scenario will have had bodycams on a=for evidence purposes

True. All sorts of finger pointing and accusing and blaming opposition fans, police, stewards etc. but in the end if everyone behaved there wouldn't be a problem. I feel desperately sorry for any innocent fans with tickets who didn't get in and were mistreated by police. But, if it is true ( and this may not be the case) that lots of Palace turned up without tickets and tried to get in , then look no further for someone to blame. Sheer stupidity. I am glad I got a ticket in the home section - I was out of the ground in 5 minutes at the end. The fact that neither Brighton nor Palace found the net at least solved my problem of how to react should either side have scored. I disagree with this. You had maybe about 50 people acting up, out of 2000, that doesn't justify the experiences that a lot of fans are reporting at the hands of the police and stewards. The police have had something like 30 plus years of policing football games - and yet a bunch of teens get the better of them, get into the game, without tickets and with flares and fireworks. Meanwhile 150 or so Palace fans plus, with tickets are denied entry, treated like they're the trouble makers and get f**ked over. Why, because you can get away with treating people like s**t if they're football fans, irrespective of whether they've done anything wrong. F**k Sussex Police they've let the force down here.

Might not look nice, but I can't imagine its easy to force your way through our turnstiles - f**k - its hard enough to get through them legitimately.
