Granted they have less of an issue now and Islamist terrorism is unheard of. Of course, if you went back to the 70s to early 2000, Japan had massive problems with domestic terrorism whilst the UK had no problems with Islamist terrorism. Also I think in 2002 there was a murder of an MP for political reasons.
And on a more serious note. No, we didn't have a problem with Islamist terrorism, we had a problem with Catholic/Protestant terrorism. My original post asked the question is it coincidence that because of their immigration policy that they have had no Islamic terrorism. I think so.

It probably is a coincidence. 80% of countries around the globe are still, thankfully, virgins when it comes any terror attack related to IS/

Because if we cannot provide homes for the children in care now,how are we suddenly going to find homes for 3000 extra. The point I was making was that these children would be far better off in our care system than living in a camp. I'm not saying they should replace children that are already here just that they should be added to the the 65,000 and the normal rules for placements etc should be followed. Those 3,000 then become'our' children just like the 65,000 that are already here.

In the end, this a question of what is best for Britain. The government has a duty to British citizens first. We can argue about what is best, but we can't be lead by emotionalism. I hate children suffering but I see it every day on my TV. It has become commonplace. I seriously wonder if saving people from famine or war zones will actually result in less suffering or more in the long term. I can ask that question in the cold light of day because I am remote from these people.

Fair point. Why are you assuming that child refugees go into the care system at all? There are plenty of UK families who would take in and be responsible for them. They are wanted.
