Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

I like this bit: "Just the 38-year-old's presence around the ground generates positive vibes, and as a season ticket holder myself, I can wholeheartedly say that the result nor the atmosphere would've had the same outcome should the Welshman have started the game instead" Absolutely great!

Did pretty well, no reason not to play him in the next game.

I've got nothing against Jules and as I posted earlier in the thread I think he should play until he has a bad game or 2. He did well enough for that to happen, You see that is being objective and keeping an open mind and giving credit where it is due. This is something the anti-Hennessey brigade should do. I'm not sure I should say that to you though, what with you being hard and all.

It's you who said you were hard. I've no Welsh bias with Hennessey in the slightest. I want to see the best we have in every position. Personally I'd like us to go for Heaton. I try very hard to be fair to all our players. When people stop doing that it annoys me and there are several who have done that with Hennessey.

I was simply saying it in response to your childish comment. Whether I could punt you up and down the road or not is not for conversation on a website. And that's the last time I'll comment on it as it's frankly stupid.

Again, I've been supporting the club since before my Dad took me to my first game in 1969 - ask my family if you don't think the club means everything to me. Just because Speroni is a legend at the club doesn't make him immune from criticism. If his leaving the pitch on his own is his way of giving back, as suggested, then I apologise. But from where I sit it looks like he is milking the applause that he knows he's going to get. On Saturday he called almost all of the team away from going down the tunnel and strongly encouraged them to say thank you to the fans for our unwavering support through a very bad time. He could have milked it on his own but didn’t. It was a very classy act.

just got back...now what have I missed? Ah Hennessey lovers on a Speroni thread. How very dare you?! Jules was totally shafted after his injury. Always was a far superior keeper than Wayne and still is even at his near death age of 38. Don't understand how the WH dsciples on here can't spot the positional errors and poor decision making week in week out. Simply not prem class.Man U game was the final straw for me. Half hearted attempts,if that, to save the goals..yes crap defending from his defendes but come on watch the replays. Brentmiester...spot on mate! Just my opinion of course Edited by eag-les (17 Oct 2017 10.51pm)
