Any number of accusations are going to come out now, and I bet some are some of the most 'loved' starts of the 80s and 90s.

A Hollywood that actually lived by its own moralising and principles would be nice.

Can't wait for that one.

Read it, quite something to read.....reads like a variation of the bystander effect.

His contempt for all the sanctimony now rings true.....this lot get treated like role models but they are no different to any other industry...smugly full of self absorbed self righteous pricks.....they just pretend to be different.

This article cuts to the very heart of the matter. Starlets, models and wannabes were sacrificed on the alter of Harvey's boner and everyone was ok with it because they liked doing the things he made happen. In the end, though, what's left are some very good movies and a generation of women damaged, to a greater or lesser extent, by this horror of a man.

Worth it? I don't think so.

Hollywood has been the same since it began. In fact wherever attractive women are available you have pathetic men trying anything to get laid. It's human nature.....Weinstein had power.....He's not an alien....I bet there are 'Weinsteins' condemning him even today.

I'd bet my house on this being the case. And then there's Washington which, for good reason, is described as "Hollywood for ugly people." Every one of those men has a side bit or two, placed in tax-payer funded jobs so they can be around when needed. Even female Senators have complained about sexual harassment from their male counterparts.

It's the boys club mentality that sets in when you let boys run the show. No girls! Until they're horny...

I'll just add that when you put large numbers of women in charge of things it's no better it's just different...Individuals would be great....But if you swapped the men for women...while you'd get less sex pests you just get double the neurotic tendencies and decisions based on what your co-workers reckon is the best thing to do.

While you get creative women in industries they aren't attracted to the 'process' part in the same numbers as men.

And you get your Maddona and Cameron Diaz f***ing the up coming talent and no one complains about it because they haven't got beer guts...but all these things are a way to gain advantage.....and for their time at least no one complained about getting the chance to f*** them.....But they take advantage of their position as well as anyone in power does......Different people do it in different ways....It's just that few people are honest about it.

Wow! So much stereotyping here it's hard to know where to begin.

A lack of diversity in any decision-making process is rarely a good thing. But as the world has been almost entirely male-dominated for millennia, it's hardly fair to bash women in positions of authority seeing as they've only really just got there.

Why you assume women are more susceptible to neuroses, I have no idea. Men didn't trust Clinton to be President because - as a woman - she'd be too emotional - so they voted for Trump who's a grab-bag of pretty much every psychological and emotional disorder going. The point being that you judge the person, not the gender.

As to Hollywood cougars, so what? As long as it's consensual, I don't give a f*** who is f***ing who. It's none of my (or your) business. It's certainly not a reason to keep women out of positions of authority.

I see Tom Jones has entered the debate now.

When asked if it was common place in the music industry he said, "It's not unusual."

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

You do it so I hardly see why accusing others of it is relevant. My assertions are backed by data.

I support meritocracy, so in essence the gender to me doesn't really matter if they are their by merit. The best film makers should be making films....diversity for diversity's sake is a dilution of that.

Research has shown that women are more prone to neuroses than are men. But people should be treated as individuals so a judgement upon the mental make up of Trump or Clinton should be made upon their previous actions.

But if we assume that we reverse the positions of power and replace men with women then we would get more neurotic behaviour than we have now.

[Link]

That's a statistical reality....To quote, 'For sex, the same review found that "research in large samples has shown that levels of N (neuroticism) are higher in women than men. This is a robust finding that is consistent across cultures. '...just as we can say that more sexual abuse would come from men.

That's essentially Weinstein's position in relation to these sex charges. It's about the abuse of power.

f***ing someone should not elevate your position, your talent should..... but it does.....that's a criticism of everyone who does it....male or female.....But I agree...there are worse things in the world.
