I agree Stuk. The casual belittling and insults thrown around have put me off contributing more. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I don't have a very thick skin I'm afraid so this isn't really the site for me anymore.

Spot on. I actually removed unmoderated from my previous post as I didn't want it to seem like I'm digging them out for the actions of others.

I would've thought the public embarrassment was enough to put things back on course, but of the few threads I've looked at today about half the posters could easily warrant carding. Again, that's just my opinion but it puts me off of visiting it much, let alone contributing.

And this whole disgraceful episode ends in the most predictable way with Parliament caving into accusations of racism to keep the minority vote onside.

'Ill judged attempts at humour.'

I'm surprised people this easily offended ever get employed.

Man quite rightly gets sacked after making inappropriate comments in the workplace. If he said what he said in nearly any workplace in the country he would be fired.

Not 'disgraceful' in the slightest.

It won't be safe to speak soon. Maybe everyone should communicate through a lawyer.

Do you expect Fergie never used a few choice words in the dressing room? Hell, didn't he once hit Beckham in the face with a boot? Should he have been fired? Would any manager last more than 5 minutes? Is this deemed different because it's a women's team?

It's not a normal workplace - if I were called a useless **** in the office, I'd be taking action, but I've certainly been called it in a changing room by a manager (probably quite rightly).

The Nigeria-born striker accused England goalkeeping coach Lee Kendall of speaking to her in a fake Caribbean accent.

Lee Kendall was a Palace youth goalkeeper in the early 00's. From what I remember pretty good on one of the champ mans.
Not sure that adds anything to this thread but someone may care.

Yeah what c***s for pointing out racism.
Anyone going to apologise for comments made about Eni Aluko.

I suggest some read back what they've written in this thread.

You honestly think what he said was OK because it was in a footballing environment?

'Racism'?

'Racism' my arse.

The term no longer has any credibility, not that it had much to begin with.

It's pure politics and that is all.

Only if turns out that she isn't a lawyer.

I'm not saying it's OK, I'm saying there is a lot worse said (and done) at football grounds up and down the country on a weekly basis, and that seems acceptable. Are you honestly saying that "don't bring ebola" is worse than "{insert multiple expletives here}" with or without chucking stuff and getting in your face ("the hairdryer").

Is it because she's black, or a woman, or both that you think this is worse?
