Especially in midfield puncheon and cabaye both 31 and mcarthur 29. I feel we may need a big chunk of investment this season but to buy players with potential sell on. The likes of Calum Chambers and coquelin also have that prem experience that a lot of managers look for. I'd also make an exception for RVP as a cheap stop gap solution for us having only 1.5 forwards.

RVP is like adebayor, remy and all the other dud loans or frees, we had up front. We'll never devlop as a club keep giving this journeymen a deal. It's time we had a 3 yr plan, rather than he's good for a season, give him a 1yr deal. The amount of loans we had ,the success rate been poor, only puncheon, Sakho,Zaha and maybe Jerome have been of any success. Why haven't we got the likes of Alfie Mawson , Charlie Taylor in the past. Surely we got to a stage in our 5th season in this division, that we start planning for the future. Whether our academy are good enough, it's time to bring players with a point to prove the likes of Chalobah valued at 5m and would be good competition for Luka. Joe Gomez with Liverpool looking for centre defender reinforcements.

If we can get the £5m that we are demanding for Mandanda to recoup the wages that we paid him last Season and £5m for Sako (it seems that Wolves Supporters would love to get him back now that they have money to throw around), we would be well on the way to meeting Sakho's transfer fee. I am fairly confident that FdB will still be able to strengthen the Squad with cheaper but still quality Dutch signings.

He has played in central defence and in both full-back positions but the feeling is that his strongest position is right-back and was playing in this position at Charlton before his tranfer to Liverpool.Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool started him off at Liverpool at left-back.Gomez has said that he would like to play in central defence and it is thought that this is where his future lies and has been labelled "The next Rio Ferdinand" Edited by Willo (06 Jul 2017 9.01am)
