If I knew what I am supposed to be angry about, I might be more on board While I agree with you that a day of rage is too general to give any real meaning like 'brexit means brexit' or 'taking back control' you could try to Google aims of day of rage or movement for justice to see if you agree with them.... Participatory democracy and all that

Participatory democracy and all that yes, but that kind of smacks of "looking for a protest to get involved in" rather than being touched by a movement, so I don't suppose I'll bother. Actually, I lied, I just did, and what I got was: Demands include: * Full amnesty and permanent right to remain in the UK for all Grenfell Tower residents who don’t have immigration papers - don't agree - that's conflating two issues (a horrible tragedy and illegal immigration) - being involved in one should have no impact on the other

Bang on. Has to be an utter w@nker to come up with that title. Unfortunate it's happening in the middle of a heat wave. If violence kicks off then I hope there are repercussions for the genius who christened the day though I doubt there will be. "Day of Respectful Discourse" wouldn't appeal to their target audience. On the other hand, "Day of Running Around Smashing Things!" is right up their alley.

Yeah pretty much. The first one, I'd say a amnesty on the period of which you can claim asylum (i.e. those who had no papers, could apply even if they've overstayed visas etc. But no guarantee of residency). I think the process of replacing council housing can realistically only be by purchase of existing properties from the market, by councils or through building new properties. Hypothetically, I think that affordable rental housing should be a right. Whether its a one bedroom bedsit/flat, two bedroom house for couples with one child and so on. Nothing fancy or opulent, but I strongly believe that citizens shouldn't be spending 50-75% plus of their income on housing. Last one, yeah I understand, but if you do that, it can't be used at trial. Rather than just a public inquiry I want a formal through police investigation in the interim to establish whether any criminal offences need to be brought.

I have never had cause to demonstrate. If I ever do, I'll get some tips from you on where to buy the shrimps for my sandwiches. Waitrose.... I usually take a packed lunch, demos can be a lot of sitting around. Always takes sweetes, and drinks. Its actually quite a good way to meet women when you're younger.

Who would of thought that Labour continued to decrease Council Housing Stock, yet blame the Tories for the same thing.

I can just see it now, the cover would have a big burly fellow wearing welder's gloves and a face shield, and he'd be holding a large drill of some sort.

KCBC have a vacant property council tax rate so any properties paying that would be a reasonable starting place for defining empty properties? On "companies involved" perhaps they mean make it public the details of which companies were given contracts on the property and specify what these contracts related to...

If I knew what I am supposed to be angry about, I might be more on board I'd wager that most of the protesters don't know either. They seem to be comprised in large part of kids who just want an excuse to run around breaking things [which, frankly, might have appealed to me when I was that age], guilt-ridden middle class white people who have been conditioned to believe that their very existence oppresses every minority group in the country, and people who are simply upset in general with their lot in life.
