My main worry is he is not a big enough character to control the egos in the dressing room. Also will he attract the big signings? I think if you look at it practically, in the short term we do not need 'big' signings, we actually need a few squad signings. Silva lost Livermore and snood grass in Jan and purchased a few lesser known players, several for around 2 to 3 mill. He actually made approx 3.5 mill in profit in dealings in Jan and improved his team. We spent 40 mill to do this. I think it's obvious he has a good knowledge of players around the continent who could strengthen the squad ready for next season. If he is successful at Palace after doing this his reputation maybe enough to help attract 'bigger' signings next season.

Terrible appointment in my opinion. He Lost at home to Sunderland. 7 defeats in 9 away from home. We smashed them 4-0. He's left he's last 2 job after a year. If this man is so good why didn't he keep hull up. Typical Palace cheap appointment. To be fair Hull were dead in the water and he gave them a chance. With better players and a decent transfer budget I think he could be a good appointment. Of course any manager comes with risk but we have to get someone.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

Where I would prefer mancini, dismissing silva is odd. The fact he made hull even resemble a premier league side was in itself a miracle. Remember, this is a club that had 13 senior players in august, had lost their manager, sacked another manager in December, got silva in but weeks later sold their two best players in Livermore and Snodgrass. It's true, he looked lost against us in that last game but what was he supposed to do once 2-0 down. He has a lot to prove but quite frankly, with the other names out there I wouldn't be too sad if this happened. This all over.

Its a good job some of you are not responsible for selecting our next Manager, lets leave to the board who seem to know something about football. Edited by OneMax (25 May 2017 6.42am) Do you think these qualities refer to Messrs Harris & Blitzer in terms of selecting our next manager ?

no one had even heard of silva in 2016. Hes's still the manager that conceded 11 goals in last 2. They conceded a lot of goals from set pieces included when silva been in charge(not another pardew). 2 clean sheets in 14games. The pulis and Sam stint proves we need a solid structure. He's all results achieved at hull in the prem:- Jan 14th W 3-1 b'mouth - home He may of had a poor squad to work with but trying to outscore the opponent isn't what we do successfully. All of those losses you'd expect them to lose apart from Sunderland. He had a brilliant response from a sh1t squad that was made even worse in January. If it wasn't for the Sunderland result we could be arguing which championship manager to bring in and how much we should 'want' hull to pay for a, b, or c players. Are you sure you know what you're talking about? All you keep doing is saying he was relegated whilst ignoring the BS situation he had to deal with which you've had explained to you over and over and was remarkable he almost had them survive, yet you type out the same win ratio this, that, the other 16 hours a day. Don't you think all managers know how to defend deep and play on the counter, and if they have the players to implement it, all the better? It could actually be discussed at interview stage.

I have been speaking to a couple of Palace supporters tonight and they were BOTH totally against Silva joining, in fact they asked me to pass their feelings on to Parish ! One of them didn't have an alternative in mind, the other one was pro-Hodgson. The fact you've said a Palace fan was pro Hodgson emphasises even more that you are a troll and a Brighton one incidentally. The other one didn't have one in mind because he was stroking his copy of the Argus and some deluded Brighton love in cr&p whilst the of you laugh how clever they think you are whilst you waste everyday of your life unsuccessfully trying to send a whole fanbase off in the wrong direction. Haven't you got anything else to do other than google or wiki search the thread topic, paste their career details and troll?

If that was the case the same 16 or 17 managers would barely ever change. We'd also not have playing for us: Ward, Dann, MacArthur, PVA. There's more I can't be bothered to think of. In fact why sign any of the players we e signed apart from Cabaye and Benteke? They're all failures and beneath us.
