BRM,I realise you were joking just stating a fact that maybe you were not aware of.
The HF are good supporters regarding instigating our vocal support both home and away, appreciated by older travelling fans like myself and the players and the envy of most other Prem team supporters, long may they reign.

Yes completely agree. Far too dangerous. Think the away section should comprise exclusively women and children. Would ensure no drug use or flares.. so throw a couple my way and I will do my bit for the greater good. Going to be a real hardship but I will give it my best shot

Can't go either Wednesday although I am not a big fan of the ground. I used to love the old away days at The Dell with their wonky home end. Just had some weird character to it and always a great away atmosphere.

To all those going, take whatever you need to try and create a good ole atmosphere like the old days....the ground needs it!

Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

I am totally aware,I'm fact I am a fanatic myself, but I am a PF (Palace Fanatic),have been since 1968.
P.S.I am not sure HF were appreciated by the players at the end of the Sunderland home game.

You can't single out the HF at that game. Many fans around the stadium were angry at our players. They have a right to express their opinion just as any other fan. Not all the HF members went over to abuse players after the final whistle and it was not only HF members that were there either

And blame the raped girl for wearing a short skirt or the police for letting armed jihadists run around killing people I suppose.

Here we go again, all the HF haters on back online.
A couple of flares & bangers & they are wetting their pants.
Was anyone hurt? NO,
You are going in the away end at a London Derby, which we were supposed to get smashed in & some how with a lot of luck we got a great victory, which hopefully will help keep us up, the lads go mental, sorry to all of you who got scared that you were being blown up by the Muslims, but no, it was the HF letting a couple of bangers & flares.
So change your pants all you Nigel's & man up.
Nothing really happened did it?
Well done to the HF & keep up the good work!!!

and what will you say when/if someone DOES get hurt?

it was there fault for being there?

stupid argument.

Exactly. And how much additional security checks would our support be prepared to tolerate? Having to turn up two hours before the game, X-ray machines, jackets off, belts off, shoes off, being taken away for a strip search? At best, security at sports events can only act as a discouragement, unless everyone wants the kind of security enacted at airports.

I agree with this.

But would ask Why are stewards not confiscating them when searching fans? What else is getting in that should not be there? Worrying........ and our stewards are just as bad as flares are let off by visiting supporters too. It is not just Palace fans.

Categorically yes of course kids should be welcome at away games. This is 2017, not 1987. My son absolutely loves being and is proud to be a Palace fan. Part of the reason is the excitement of going to away games. That includes the intense noise, the standing and (don't tell his mother) the odd swear word. Being in the away end with the atmosphere is part of the draw for him. I doubt either of us would bother going to sit in the West Brom/Stoke/Villa etc etc family stand.

We live in Birmingham so 2/3 of grounds are easier to get to than Selhurst. 13 of the 15 games my lad has been to since he was 5 years old are away games. The same applies to loads of other people. To suggest that a future generation of kids of exiled Palace fans should be forgotten about in favour of a few flares and bangs is quite frankly nonsense.

I am not saying lose the atmosphere - I'm just questioning the need for (illegal) flares. What do they really add?
