One thing he will bring to the defensive line is pace. We have a serious lack of it without Souare who, last year, made some great covering tackles on players that the rest of the defence couldn't get near. Souare isn't the best defending but just knowing there is a bit of pace in your line allows you to push up a little more. He's been a massive loss for us as we have no balance or counter pace on the left at all. If Schlupp can bring some of that back and our CB's regain belief in themselves then it is a start to us climbing away from the relegation zone. Age is still on his side too and some players find themselves with a change of scenery, hopefully he is one.

"They got his own song 'He's just too good for you', it's quite unbelievable but when you see it and he's facing up someone - I actually feel sorry for them, 'Cos he actually is" - Ian Holloway

Well you're pleasant aren't you. What exactly have I written to warrant that sort of childish reply?

I've come on here to try and give you an honest opinion on what the player is like.

If you can't handle that, then you're a bit of a weirdo.

Again, I'm repeating myself here. He won young player of the year by default by being the only young player in the first team that was eligible.

He was also a bit part player when we won the league. He started the season and got dropped after a spanking as we were conceding far too many. It was only after he and De Laet got dropped did we really go on hot form as we could stop goals going in.

I guess Leicester should be on a hot form since Schlupp and De Laet are not part of the team.

Last time I checked, Leicester is battling for relegation.

While you are here repeating yourself, go back and watch West Ham vs Leicester – 2016 game. Who won the penalty for Leicester?

Had Leicester lost that game, it would have cost them wining the league.

A weirdo in an Internet forum? Come on now that's surely unlikely.

Sometimes it takes a good coach to bring the best out in a player.

Last season Victor Moses was rotting on Chelsea’s bench. Along came Conte, he developed Victor Moses, gave him a chance and it has paid off for Chelsea.

Big Sam will help Schlupp develop and bring the best out in him.

What on earth are you talking about. Are you doubting the fact he and De Laet were dropped because of us conceding too many? It's there in black and white if you want to bother looking.

As for this season, it's a totally different year with a completely different set of problems.

So Jeff won a penalty, what exactly is your point? He was not a first choice player. Against that's in black and white if you want to take a look.

I'm not sure why you're even trying to argue

I have said the same several times already on here. He was a favourite of Pearson, just not of Ranieri.

A wing back position like Moses would be ideal for Schlupp at the minute. He was excellent in that position during our "great escape".

He's not a ready made left back, but he isn't exactly new to it either. I'm baffled at your managers comments about tightening up the defence... with Jeff that could take some time.

He's no horror show, just prone to lapses in concentration.

Would fit in well at Palace

One problem when buying a player is - Will the player fit in with the way a club plays, I get the impression that this is taken a more seriously with attacking players than defenders although a manager as experienced as BS would think about this. Usually a club/manager will fit the style of play to fit to the forwards/attacking midfielders.

I must admit I know little about Schlupp but the club may have seen something in him to feel he is the kind of defender we need with how we play or are going to play not just that they think he's good player.

How many times has a player looked average/good to the fan of the club he plays at then moved and then that player seems to have improved/got worse?, perhaps fits in better with that teams style.

Apologies mate, there was absolutely no need for that. Fortunately we're not all like him!

Whether bitter and angry (e.g. Newcastle supporters) or giving an opinion on a player we're in for (the Leicester supporter on here tonight) it all adds to the interest of the site. We can read someone's view and move on if we disagree or even if despise the reasoning. I welcome such postings whether I agree or not.

I think the Newcastle fans knew they were picking a rather raw wound whether they'd admit it or not. Whereas this chap seems to have come on and said nothing untoward and got a load of abuse for it. Strange.
