None of us know how he'll settle into Palace's team (should he sign) but I trust Allardyce to know a bit more about it than me. (or anyone else on here)

As I have said, people in football far more qualified than I am have questioned his defending, Peter Reid for starters.
BFS knows what he's getting with Van Aanholt. So him plus Schlupp makes for a massively strengthened left flank. Or so we hope!

Let's be honest, If he was really any good, Sunderland wouldn't let him go to another team in the dog fight with them would they?

I look forward to him signing then all the post match threads saying how sh*t he is, just like every thread on our players. Feel free though to tell me I'm wrong when he ends up becoming our POTY. As opposed to someone who has managed him before.

In all seriousness though, the thing they both possess is real pace and power going forwards, they may not be the best defensively but we'd be paying a lot more to get all 3 aspects. If we have 2 players that can do a job at the back but also get us up the pitch at the same time then that's great. Relying on Wilf to get us up the field since Bolasie left has made us very 1 dimensional again. If we are going to use wingbacks a bit more then we can leave our CB's to defend a bit more but have the pace to cover when needed, that's one thing Souare brought to us that no-one else in our back line can do.

As opposed to someone who has managed him before. Quite. Blind faith in any incoming transfer is laughable. Pardew managed Cabaye, Cabaye came to Palace, Cabaye was an exciting transfer who everyone just knew would do extremely well because he's played for Pardew previously so well worth the fee and the wages. I read it on this board so it must be true. Cabaye has been slated ever since. BSA may think he can get Van Aanholt to perform for him, all I say is exercise a bit of caution.

Laughably he has been slated on here, by people who have no idea. Quality player, undoubtedly one of our best players, in todays market worth the fee and wages.
