Pardew seems to have the ability to turn excellent players into nothing ones, e.g. Cabaye and Townsend, with Benteke well under way.
Let's keep the ball this season! |

I do think we overpaid 'pool for Benteke. As for 'Dros...he needs to buck his ideas up and work on being consistent- there's a reason why Spurs sold him

Wickham did well at Sunderland and Cabaye and Townsend at Newcastle but they don't seem to shine playing for us. Even for £27M Benteke is not scoring many goals as we expect him to. Is it our style of play and formation ? Or our coaching ? Bit revisionist on Wickham isn't it? Many thought we'd massively overpaid for him, that he was poor at Sunderland and a waste of money. Personally, I think he's been good for us, just injury prone. Benteke has 8 goals in 15 Premier League games, on pace for 19 league goals this season. That seems pretty good to me?
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

Townsend belongs on the left, Zaha on the right. It doesn't matter what anyone talked to anyone. A good manager would see where they actually play well.

So with that one out of the way is it your opinion that Pardew shoulders no blame for our disastrous run and it is the players fault? I note you referred to 'reasoned debate'. That does not mean it is my view that you entered into it. I don't believe anyone on this site would claim Pardew was not at all culpable for our recent run of form, that would be illogical. Reasoned debate would surely focus on to what extent Pardew shoulders the blame as opposed to the others involved in making the team a success. In the end the buck (largely) stopped with Pardew and so this is now an irrelevant - but reasoned - discussion.

Anyone think Lee might do a job for his old Bolton manager. Could just reinvigorate our underperforming pros such as Cabaye and Andros. Also think he will suit Benteke down to the ground. Yeah I'm feeling positive now. Also I was never a vocal Pardew outer, but I'm not unhappy with This decision

Penalties DON'T actually matter. Anyone could have taken them. You can't judge him as a striker because he takes penalties.
