I think some people make up stuff simply to suit their argument. It makes it easier to justify slagging off a manager who they don't want. Just like my random use of stats to make a point.

As for his comment about Howe being more pragmatic, he's not a chancer like Pardew. But his record over the last 25 games shows his teams are not much better defensively and don't score as many goals. Likewise, if his team's results from the start of this season mean he is a better manager, then any 17 game sample should be sufficient for any other evaluation of a manager too. Ergo, Mourinho must be a s*** manager because he got 15 points from the opening 16 games last season, despite having an excellent squad.

I think some people are in denial there's so much excusing to be had. The facts are laid bare if people choose to open there eyes. If you can't hack it don't back it. Over to the decision makers there got more to lose.

Where in that post did I make excuses? I've pointed out plenty of times there are many reasons to want rid of AP without having to make up stuff.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

I wasn't having a go I'm as fed up as the next man with the current state of affairs. AP should be judged on his own merit alone without stats or comparisons to other managers "facts laid bare" that's enough to be chewing on. Another observation is the divisions within the fan base that this situation is causing won't go away.

no offense taken. I think he should go as I no longer think he can carry the club forward in the manner laid out by him and SP: stable league position; challenging for the top 10-8 or so; the odd cup run; along with bringing youngsters through. His seeming total lack of pragmatism until the players seems to have revolted, clinched it. It should not take that to change tactics or formation.

Fair dos. If he carries the baton onto 2017 he must be backed then in my opinion cos if he ain't it's the championship IMO.

So the "more modest resources" is just an assumption on your part.

Actually we have this wonderful modern invention called the "television". You should get one. You can see matches for yourself and make your own mind up.

Bournemouth are well organised, well trained, well disciplined and properly managed. We aren't. Sorry if you don't like that, but it's the truth.

I have no problem with that. To me he should go, but if not then I think you are spot on. The chairman has to back him, and some movement as soon as the window opens is crucial. We don't need another month of no left back, and no spare defenders or striker.

Bournemouth has also been very healthy. I'm sure I'm not the only one shocked that Wilshire has already played 15 games, more than the past 2 seasons combined I think. They will probably get their injury patch, and we'll see how they do.

I see Everton gave up a goal to Liverpool in the 94th minute. What a horrible manager Koeman must be to allow his players to lose it late like that. Only 2 wins in the last 11, with his budget? I guess he's got to go

Or give Steve Kember another shot. Been a while.

Great shout but after a long wait Dario is available again and gets my vote.

The injuries haven't been kind at all & the cover isn't sufficient. Defence is the number 1 priority & hope benteke stays fit with CW not returning anytime soon. It will be a slog of a season whatever happens I think now with the dropped points & longterm injuries & it won't stop there with the injuries.

Stats tell a plethora of stories I agree.
The fact is that our results are dreadful and have been for a year now.
Yes we have injury trouble but realistically which of those would be playing?
Souare for sure, Mandanda maybe but would he make a difference?
Remy we haven't ever seen so I don't count him.
Wickham was always a sub so far.
In reality the team that is playing is pretty much the one that would be playing even if we were at full strength.
So much is wrong on the playing side - including transfers - and has been for ages.
The facts cannot be disguised.
The last two games have shown that there is light at the end of the tunnel - it remains to be seen whether we can raise our game to the same levels against the likes of Watford - lose there and it will be all change!
