much like the brexit thread, Mr Pardew is causing divide amongst us all. I can see clearly that going forward we are looking better, but, and it's a big But, you have to look at chances missed, lets not forget that the two goals we did score against Liverpool were very fortunate, and also the equaliser at the weekend was a pen from an absolutely mind bogglingly stupid hand ball that won us a free shot at goal. Point being as much as people bemoan our " bad luck" we have in our defeats had our fair share of fortune. The loss on Saturday was down to nothing more than gun ho greed, and an arrogance on behalf of the manager. Instead of allowing HIS team to leave one defender on the half way line with seconds of a game left, he should have left Fryers, Ward, and Ledley back on the half way line, if he does that they don't score and we still have 7 to aim for in the box. Possession football (in your own half) does not win you points, winning does, and we simply have not done enough of that under AP. We made West Ham and Bournemouth look like Barca. And what is this new passing game all the remain campaign are going on about? Sure we knock it about across our back line with more confidence than before, but other than that there is no difference to the way we used to set up with Pulis, and actually since we have had Benteke there are a lot more long balls pumped up to him from 40 meters away. Now we have a look at signings, Benteke is obviously a quality addition to any side, Initially I thought Townsend was at least as good as Yannick, not so sure about that now, as for the rest, they are just a bunch of championship players at best, and Jedi wasn't replaced as we were told he would be. And for me the Jury is out on Mandanda, not sure any keeper would look good in front of that back four, so time will tell with him. As for who could replace AP. I firmly believe that there are many managers out there, that could pull more from the current squad than he is. I also love that people are digging out Allardyce saying he's a boring one dimensional coach ? well even if that were true, I'd rather the slump was halted and we stayed up, than spend the season watching "thrilling" 3-2 defeats to the likes of West Brom and Swansea and then watch Brighton leap frog past us into the prem whilst we are away Leeds again, Won't be many mind the gap posts then will there ? Lastly I can't actually believe there are alleged fans of the club on here stating that they would rather us go down than have Allardyce's brand of football at Selhurst. And I'm fairly certain the chairman would agree with me in saying as long as we stay up, the football is secondary. And just one for the record, I post on here all the time win lose or draw, I wasn't sure about the AP appointment from the off's I thought he was erratic and that showed through in his teams, I have seen nothing to show me I was wrong, except of course we now have lost the ability to defend. Nothing would please me more than for AP to sort his s*** out and get the team playing the way we all know they can. But I firmly believe hos own self importance and arrogance will prevent him from doing so, and the casualty of that arrogance could be our premiership status.
Edited by dannyh (07 Nov 2016 12.01pm) Of course they would, they look at it from a business point of view, like how the arsenal board couldn't care less where they finish every season as long as they qualify for the champions league due to the financial side of the sport. The thing is there's some fans like myself that couldn't care less from a business point of view and still view it as a competitive sport. Every single player's aim at our club should be to win the league otherwise they might as well not bother and what's the point. Looking at it realistically our chances of winning are slim to none. The very least I expect especially the money it costs to watch, is watching a team that actually goes out and try's to win, not one set up for damage limitation, playing safe direct football in the hope of scraping enough points just to make the numbers up before going again the next season.

Clearly a win rate of just under 17% since last Christmas means he has to go, how can anyone defend that record, if he stays we go down, personally I'm happy to have 1-0 wins at home and 0-0 away as staying up is more important than scoring loads of goals and getting beat each week!

I like it. We need to be the Joe Bugner of the premiership.....

36% for this season Which, if sustained over the season, would give us 41 points. So that's all right then.

3 wins from 11 PL games is 27%, the average points are 1 per game this year which would give us 38 points, hardly safe bearing in mind West Ham were relegated with 43 points a few season back. We could well be in the drop zone if we do not beat Man City, hey ho! pigs might fly, by all means live in a dream world!

I've wanted him out since late last season with about 65% confidence I was right. I thought maybe he would turn it round. I just came across this on the sackpardew website which has probably lifted that up to about 85-90%. While the website is clearly biased, what I have linked to are verbatim quotes. Had any of them been wrong, or substantively out of context, I don't believe they would still be online today. Also, the critical thing for me is that from the outside it appears as if his arrogance harms our performances.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |
