Sainsbury's have every right to protect their own interests. It's up to us to come up with a solution that suits all parties.

Which not only got a CPO, it was then set on fire by some arsonist which wasn't a coincidence if you ask me. Bigger club and smaller business = walked all over

I don't have a clue where we are at with Sainsbury's but one solution would be to allow Sainsbury's to build a new store in our car park. If they open the new store prior to demolishing the current one then I don't see a problem with their profits. The cost of a new store would be the stumbling block I presume. I assume that planning permissions and dealing with the houses is the delay for the main stand. Does anyone have inside information?

Firstly we're going to need some of our car park to build the new main stand, as it's an extension of the existing one. And secondly, the club needs a car park for all those corporate packages that it plans to sell after redevelopment; the sort of people that buy those aren't going to park in a side street.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

We should offer to pay for a couple of sainsbury's local stores for them in the local area in trade for the Selhurst Park space back. The shift to local stores surely has to offer us a bit more leverage in this situation.

The planning issues involved with Selhurst Park are enormous, due to the limited capacity of the Stadium, it's close proximity to residential property and of course Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's just pulled out of a deal with Bristol Rovers to buy their ground and build a big store. Apparently they're not interested in building as many big stores as they were previously and are developing a network of smaller local stores as their new strategy. Three words. Underground car park.
