When I moved to Selsdon I believed we had a train station, it was called Selsdon Station. But it wasn't near Selsdon, and it closed in 1983. I was so upset I moved to France. France has a railway station.

My local station is Ruislip Gardens, which is mentioned in "Middlesex" by John Betjeman: In Ruislip (a not particularly significant place) we have five rail stations: Ruislip Served by the Piccadilly, Metropolitan and Central Lines, and London Overground. Come friendly bombs and fall on Ruislip.

Acton can beat that. North Acton Different rail and tube lines. But I don't live in Acton.

Pudding Mill Lane - The name of the station is taken from the nearby Pudding Mill Lane which, in turn, takes its name from the former Pudding Mill River, a minor tributary of the River Lea. This is believed to have taken its name from St. Thomas's Mill, a local water mill shaped like a pudding and commonly known as Pudding Mill. The area had also been called Knob Hill up until the 1890s. Sorry if already posted but just had to look it up! Thanks to Wikipedia. Knob Hill... Isn't that in Brighton?

I once dressed as a girl and 'pulled' a Palace fan on a train. He even took to social media in an attempt to reconnect with me. Edited by Southampton_Eagle (03 Aug 2015 3.28pm) hmm (if it was, PM me) Having a w*nk on a train is about as near as any of us will ever get to joining the mile high club.

the bloke who built Dulwich village didn't want a train station in the village so you have east Dulwich , west Dulwich and north Dulwich . south Dulwich would have been nice as I reckon it would be 2 minutes from my house rather than the 15 it is to east Dulwich .

that's a cracking little train journey , London bridge to cannon street , I don't know why Michael portillo has not done it on his rather splendid great train journeys programme . its a trek from one side of London to the other and involves a river crossing .
