Whilst the Evening Argus has echoed fans' comments that next season will be "Third Time Lucky" despite the fact not a ball has been kicked of the 2014/15 season, I genuinely think they'll begin to ebb away now if they adhere to FFP. Brighton are an ordinary side that has been reasonably well managed for a few seasons. They have a handful of decent players, Ulloa and Lingard (on loan) are the only two with any kind of high level Championship quality IMO. I don't, however, think that you necessarily need to have the best personel in the league to get promoted and win the Playoffs. This year, and last year, I thought Brighton's management had done well to build on wins and they got some good points against some of the bigger teams. With Brighton's home and away records being similar this year and it seemed they were better against the top teams than the bottom ones, so I genuinely thought they'd win the Playoffs. Over time though, failure to go up will start to kill any expectation of the fans, players and management and I think they'll get more and more exposed as an 'ordinary' side. I can't see them dropping down a tier any time soon, but I think they'll start to level out in the middle of the table where, on paper, they belong. I guess it all depends who takes over as new boss. In the meantime, let's laugh at them. They probably lost about 5,000 fans to Man City yesterday.
