at the end of the day all these debates are purely speculation/opinions and none of us know what the budget will be come jan. And more to the point Tony Pulis hasn't had time to have a good look at the players that he already has yet

I was speaking to someone from the 'world' of football last night and he made the following observation about Rhodes : Very good touch and works extremely hard, putting defenders under pressure.Natural finisher who can score all types of goals, with both feet, head, volleys etc.Always looking to get across defender when attacking a cross and is good at this.Always on the move so is difficult to mark. Not the quickest but is clever and never gets frustrated when he feeds on scraps.Earlier this year his manager at Blackburn, Michael Appleton wanted him to be better when holding the ball up. He is son of ex-professional goalkeeper Andy Rhodes and he actually used to play in goal as a kid.He was a Celtic supporter when he was growing up !

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jordan Rhodes (rumour)' by Moose Plus surely if Palace play the type of football under Pulis which is likely, (which I'm not knocking, it's a means to an end - that end being premiership survival) then Defoe is neither particularly physically strong or that adept at holding the ball up whilst support arrives. He's quick and he's a poacher but he needs the ball in the box with support players running through, playing the formation we have been, that simply is not going to happen. Rhodes on the other hand whilst I accept is unproven on a Premiership level is over 6ft and fits that criteria perfectly Plus he's a big lad, Pulis loves a big lad!!!

Personally if we are going to play 1 upfront , Shane long would be a cheaper and possibly better option.

8/1 favorites to sign him. Personally think he would score goals in the Premier and if we go down would help fire us back up

Kone (Proven Premier league quality). Roberto Martinez has signed him for both Wigan and Everton.
