It would be a great week if Mark & Carol were to follow her, then we get three points at Ipswich...

You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself.

She was a grocer's daughter.

My message behind my post is that all the rich have nothing bad to say about her cos she helped them out, while the poor got f***ed over. I know these people because I went to school with them.

The Conservative party have always been about benefiting the rich while the poor suffer. The problem with the poor is that they don't really trust any political party so they don't vote, they need to start voting cos the rich they get everyone and I mean EVERYONE in their families to vote, even the grannies.

I have to admit, this really did make me laugh. Shall we see if we can get a new law passed whereby anyone classed as upper class (per your Facebook criteria) are not allowed to let more than one generation vote? Damn those grannies!

What a moron.

Two million manufacturing jobs lost - Yup but it had to happen.
Unemployment from one million to three million - Yup, it's a fair charge.
inflation 10 per cent when she came into power
inflation 10 per cent when she was booted out - A bit unfair that.
Prolonged a war - in Northern Ireland - through instansigence and collusion - Nope, she wore the b******s down and I shed no tears for any gunned down terrorists.
Closed down the most Grammar Schools (when Educ.Sec) - Yup, I agree not a good thing as it turned out.
Sold off state companies very cheaply - Yup, privatisation turned out to be a very mixed bag.
Wasted North Sea Oil revenues in doing so. - Maybe that's moot, another party would have wasted them just doing something else.
Signed us up to the ERM and , thus, Black Wednesday
And, of course, the Poll Tax - Yup, spot on.

Plenty more

Yup, selling off council houses was a great short term election policy but has pretty much stuffed the next generation of working class youth....Housing is now a disaster area no party is prepared to seriously tackle.

Far from great.

She did good stuff too but the destructive stuff outweighs it imo. The sh1t we see in our society today? A lot of that had its nascence from the 80's and that Government.

Let's not let this thread get too personal, everyone. It's what the old cow would have wanted.

Play nicely.

I am too young to remember Thatchers era,
but if you were lower class like my family, you struggled, while the rich benefited. Heartless bitch, good riddance, I say.

Yes, it was truly that black and white...

I am truly amazed at the response to Thatchers death on this website and i need to own up to my arrogant predjudice of Palace fans political views.I came on this site expecting to have to counter praise and sadness of her passing but have been truly uplifted by the posts. In my opinion she died with the blood of thousands on her hands in view of self interest in places like South Africa where her opposition to sanctions was in the interest of big business and her husbands previous position with Castrol oil and its association with south africa. The three and half million unemployed and their families were in no small part funded by cheap north sea oil which we no longer can rely on.So let them now eat cake and live on £57 per week. Her love child,Tony Blair carried on allowing the banks and markets to gamble with our money which she was the significant policy initiator.
There are many millions of people in this country who suffered under her watch.Long may she BURN...

Her biggest mistake was not letting our Harriers and tanks march over and into Buenos Aires when she had the chance in 1982.

We could have ripped the snakes head off given the chance and established an overseas territory in Latin America, based on good Protestant values.

I don't think there will be another prime minister ever who divides opinion as much as she did.

You only have to look at the debate on here and all over the country really that shows you that the left have to admit she got some things right. And the right have to admit that she got some things wrong.

One thing I did respect her for was once she made up her mind she stuck with it, even though at times she probably knew with hindsight it was wrong. But the public expect strong leaders. This has always been the way over hundreds of years. As prime minister you are paid to make decisions, massive decisions that change peoples lives. You're never gonna keep everyone happy but I would rather someone stay true to there word rather chop and change there mind which shows weakness.

My old man always voted for her. He was a copper and she was a massive supporter of the old bill, promising them a massive pay rise before she came to power and implementing the rise immediately. Although we now know that was all part of a master plan in her quest to take on the unions. She basically guarenteed the votes of every copper in England and Wales and there families and of course they went on to earn a fortune during the miners strikes. My old man was based up in Derby for that. More or less paid half his mortgage off. Not gloating just shows you the two ends of the spectrum on how she affected people. You had working class people on one side losing there jobs, homes etc and working class people on the other side making a fortune.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
