However, if he's the solution to leading our line then I'm just not sure he will solve our main problem which is chance conversion. Take your point on Euro leagues but I suppose the argument is that you are taking a risk but also hopefully paying a lower premium. Striker is obviously a very difficult position for clubs of our size but it just seems amazing how rarely we get it right.

The thing is we may have an outstanding world class CF already, i think with his strength, pace, height, Skill, heading ability and finishing, Franca, imho will be CF, eventually.

Along the same lines it would be wonderful if yesterday gave Edouard the confidence to push on and have a good season. The problem is that despite his goal I still came out of the game feeling as though he should have had a hattrick and was wasteful.

Tim Vickery, who pops up to give his opinion on South American players, said he definitely has potential, but is very raw at the moment. He will do one wondrous thing, then 10 very poor, losing possession. On that basis, I cant see Roy and Ray rushing him into the team.
