Here in Gozo they are setting of petards in celebration of something religious or other. Petards are basically fireworks but without the flash, in other words lots of noise but nothing to see. A good metaphor for this thread really. Just a load of petards.

bc_radio_five_live" target="_blank">[Link] Interview with Parish where he talks about the documentary and also, briefly, the situation with the new manager @ 17:50 - manager segment @ 17:58. Interestingly enough he emphatically denies reports of us approaching Burnley for Dyche & says he has never met with Nuno. Although from what he said, it would appear the reported interest in Nuno is accurate, with caveats, such as the Mendes situation, perhaps. I think it's fairly safe to say that whilst the whole thing has been kept under wraps, Dyche isn't coming to Palace. And the reports are probably there or thereabouts: we're going for Nuno & if that doesn't transpire, it'll be one of the Championship candidates. I just sincerely hope that if Nuno is the prime candidate, Parish & Dougie have ascertained the real circumstances around his departure from Wolves and have addressed the Mendes situation head on. Edit: appears the link isn't working after I posted it so try the following without spaces if doesn't work for you: https :// www . bbc . co . uk/ sounds/ play/ live: bbc_radio_five_live

Just curious The name rings a bell, but then there are a lot Georges here due to St George (he being the patron saint for Rabat/Vitcoria the capital). What line of work is he in? More importantly, is he a candidate for the Palace job?

Transfer window opens on Wednesday next week. Surely the plan is to have our new Manager in place by then..!! I keep having reoccurring nightmares of DF as Manager and Mark Bright as assistant. Come on Steve get it sorted..!! COYP

And if I was Steve Parish I would be having some concerns around why a holiday gets in the way of a contract being signed. Now I know the world of football bares little resemblance to real life, but surely Lampard's agent and legal team would just advise him to sign ( if terms are in order ) wherever in the world he is. The appointment can be announced and any physical signing ( together with obligatory photo holding a club scarf ) can be done when Frank returns. Saying that, I can envisage a Teams/Zoom call ; '' Hi Steve, I'm back and I'm raring to go ! '' I'm inclined to think the same, (and said so previously), only to be shot down in flames by Mapletree, who does employment contracts for a living. Along with many, many other things...

I think 'being on holiday' is turning into one of those phrases that's a substitute for something negative. Others include 'can I have a quick word?' and 'it's only a temporary situation'. I take the phrase to mean something along the lines of 'b*gger off'.

Does it matter if we don’t have a manager in to identify the players we then miss out on?
