As long as injuries don’t cripple us I think parish and Hodgson will have achieved the objective again of not being as bad as the 3 worst teams. The end of the season as usual might provide the opportunity to claim some more points vs disinterested opposition players.

Roy got lucky yesterday. Some people may not view me as Roy's number 1 fan, but we did a job against the team bottom of the league. Picked up 3 points and moved on. Scoring so early against a team who offer to little going forward is always going to result in a strange game. Sheffield United are where they are partly for being overcautious. Hoping to snatch an odd goal here or there on the counter attack isn't working for them this season. Teams have got wise to it and we didn't get drawn in. You'd have had to be on an FdB level of s***ness to lose that. You can only play whats in front of you, and we did a pragmatic professional job.

Roy got lucky yesterday. He sure did. An early goal, deflected no less! And when the scorer of that goal had to go off injured, he was replaced by someone who conjured up one of the goals, if not THE goal of the season! How lucky can you get? What are the odds? Not only that, Wilf avoided a red card for slapping their chap around the chops! Surely any other ref would have relished sending Zaha off? O Lucky Day!

Pathetic wind up, must try harder.

I really don't think many of our supporters think about the possibility of a top 4 or top 6 finish and are delighted just to retain our PL place. We are many years away from having a modern stadium and modern state-of-the-art training facilities.

Overall as a club we have done exceptionally well to retain our PL status and build a fairly strong squad. Credit to SP and RH for steadying the ship after the Dutchman. Fans should look back over the last 10 years and be thankful for players like Wilf and now Eze coming to the fore. Let's move forward and look forward to more success.

How could anyone possibly manage to turn that round? Witchcraft maybe?

We lost Benteke to a knee injury for two months in Roy's second game, a 5-0 defeat away to Man City. At the time he was the only fit recognised striker.
