Be prepared for somebody to find a rare newt in Wooderson Close over the next couple of weeks. Edited by martin2412 (24 Jan 2018 10.38pm) More like a rat. I saw one scurry behind a green electricity box just off Thornton Heath High street near Tesco and well away from the ground. Faster than Benteke. Edited by Rudi Hedman (24 Jan 2018 10.43pm)

Image on pg 699 on the BBS thread of a flyer for the residents' meeting this Friday night at the Clifton. The Clifton that'd probably close down without Palace fans' business. There's mention on there of more urinating on the streets around that area of the ground. Can't say I've seen much urinating around Selhurst park for years. Certainly not around there. It's probably the best behaved corners of the ground. Those are pretty flimsy objections to be honest. We managed better when we tried (and failed) to stop a KFC setting up locally. I actually feel more confident now than before reading the call to arms. I hope some local Palace fans attend and show their support for the plans. No reason they have to speak with one negative voice!

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave At the first of the two 'public consultation' dates, there was a guy who lived about 2 or 3 houses along from the Clifton. He was thrilled about the plans, and probably even more excited that his house was featured on the scale model. Sharon Lacey (CPFC) asked him if he came to games, and he said he was a member and came to several games a season when he could afford it and it wasn't on tv So don't assume everyone locally is anti football, anti this development and anti-Palace, because some of the locals are Palace fans too

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave At the risk of quoting myself from yesterday, it really isn't "the big day" It is merely a presentation and discussion ahead of CPFC submitting the actual application (we haven't submitted it yet!) Originally posted by dorking
Just to clarify, Palace haven't even submitted the planning application yet, and won't receive planning approval tomorrow The application so far is just a 'pre-app', where Palace are looking for Councillors comments and feedback, and for guidance from the planning officers as to what they need to fine-tune, and what evidence they need to provide. The meeting tomorrow will give a good idea of how warmly (or otherwise) the Croydon Councillors on the Planning Committee view the proposal, and from their comments, CPFC's planning consultants can go away and finish their submissions, which will be formally submitted around the end of January The final decision will take 8 weeks or so (maybe up to 12) from when the application goes in

I think its easy to be Glib about the plight of families having to potentially up route, imagine if you had been told you were being moved on after 20 years of living in a place, where you have your mates, family about. I really want this to go ahead, but being sympathetic to there needs will be key here. Can't we offer some of the executive boxes up as HMO's?

The Crystal Palace NIMBYS will love this plan. They'll probably send down a firm of lawyers to the Clifton to give it their backing in return for guarantees of no wuffians near their beloved Palace park dinosaurs* for decades to come. *I quite like them too

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Just been watching the committee meeting on line. One Ward Councillor expressed concern as to the increase of traffic in CROYDON!! Doesn't stop them increasing businesses on Purley Way. I was not impressed with the council and it seems that they want to defer making a decision, they suggested the club had hurried their plans.... really! My wife (who is not a football fan) stated the club should tell them to f*** off, move away and leave the ground to rot. I must admit I tended to agree, if only it was that simple.

Take it from a seasoned Reformed Politician and charter member of Politicians Anonymous (a 24 step program). They were following a well rehearsed script. Don't take too much to heart at this stage. We're still in the preliminary qualifying rounds. The first round proper is a ways off. There will be a lot of sound and fury, usually indicating nothing.
