Well my view is that racism has different levels of seriousness like any crime. Where those lines are,would be determined by whom? All racism is totally wrong but before going at me like a wild thing, just think about what I wrote.

Also, correct me if I’m wrong here, but most fighty England fans are probably not ‘leftys’. I can see why police presence is more concentrated and active.

All that said, I don’t disagree that on the surface it’s don’t engage with the left / engage with the right - but maybe they hadn’t topped up enough for what, to your point, they’d assume to be a relatively trouble free protest? In which case I buy the logic of not sending in non-TSG heavies to combat thuggery - that only ends badly. Also a bit of it is optics - headlines with police fighting black protesters would not be ideal

Finally - I’d assume even though the ‘leftys’ were calling for their people not to protest today to avoid clashes, if I were the police commissioner I’d be taking that with a pinch of salt and this time tooling up not just for the right, but for the potential clash between the two

That’s probably why they’re more keen to engage today. Also it seems like they’re targeting the police specifically this time, whereas the ‘lefty’s’ were mainly targeting inanimate objects and property
